Alignments are free up to something like 2000 miles, to cover any factory alignment issues. I don't know if they knew that and they were trying to help you, or if they were trying to fleece you regardless. |
Is an alignment check part of PDI? Seems like it should be if that's a common issue. |
You can see it in your warranty booklet. One alignment within 1k-2k miles (can't remember which) is covered for all BMWs.
