I don't know if you'll get a straight answer but here's my opinion:
1. I used to have 18" wheels on my F36 with the Track Handling Package. Ride was good, if a bit vague due to the thicker sidewall. I have no experience with smaller wheels with the G8X.
2. I have the 19/20 setup on the G82, on
bad roads, the ride quality is perfect (for me) in comfort mode. The suspension can be a very tiny bit little floaty with undulations in the road in comfort mode. On
good roads, the sport setting is perfect for me. Undulations have a crisp sports car like up and down response with zero bounce. I never run sports+ on the suspension.
I have run both summer and winter tires on the G82 on the 19/20 setup. No issues or significant differences except in grip for the conditions they are suited for.
