Looking for ideas for an Indian wedding car

As some may know, Indian grooms enter on some form of transportation. Traditional forms include an elephant, more commonly a horse. Some have done helicopters, segway, jet skiis, boats, and various cars. The total use time is about 45 minutes.

Being a car enthusiast, I would love to get a car.

The wedding is July 4th weekend, in Connecticut at a banquet hall.

I personally would just use my E90 M3, but my fiance thinks I should get a convertible.

Unfortunately, in Hartford, the typical rentals include a Chrysler Sebring, Mustang, or Mitsubishi Spyder. Exotic rentals are over $1000 for the day and are only in NYC. A horse is $850. An elephant is $10,000. A Rolls Royce Limo is $1200.

I thought I would ask my fellow enthusiasts for ideas and cool choices.

My thoughts:
1. asking a fellow owner for driving me in a Z8, Tesla Roadster, or classic Corvette.
2. Renting a mustang 6 cylinder from Dollar rental car.
3. sitting on top of an escalade or hummer.

Thoughts?

The wedding I was in used a Hummer with some crazy sound system. Honestly, I think it's a waste of time and money even though I understand the tradition.

I would skip it unless it's really important to you. A lot of the Indian traditional wedding stuff is just showing off and it has lost its meaning and practicality.

My suggestion is do something fun that doesn't cost a lot and F everyone else.

Renting an exotic would just look tacky, IMO.

I think getting a horse would be the best (and most practical). Getting an elephant would be badass as well but $10,000 for a single day rental of an elephant seems like an egregious waste of money

Using your M3 would be boring. I think you should get something different for a special occasion. Not that an M3 is a bad car or anything.

So yeah I vote horse.

Which is strange because Indians are known to be extremely frugal.

Depends on how much you're spending. 10k for an elephant may not be much in the grand scheme of things.

I would just use your E90M, but I don't really know much about Indian weddings other than the 2 I've been to. One of the weddings the groom arrived on an elephant.

m3 should be good enough, if not then a classic convertible would be so sick

How can you call yourself an east indian if you don't ride in with an elephant? Seriously don't embarrass your relatives, get that elephant. Worth every penny.

If you want to get real exotic, get four capybara's and put a platform on top of them with a canopy made for a king.
