It looks like you have a lot of carbon fiber accessories- why not wrap it in carbon fiber?
I personally don't think black would look good unless it was a matte black- but definitely not a gloss black.

Matte black wrap is a good idea, I dunno about CF though, that's alil TOO much CF for my liking. Yes it does match but just too much.
any idea how much it should cost on average to wrap the roof when it has a sunroof?

Yes, a matte black wrap- perfect!

Not sure about the cost brother- some others with more experience will undoubtedly chime in I'm sure.

I learned the hard way not to paint the roof on my last car- wrapping is best. In my opinion you never know when you're gonna get sick of it, or want to change back.

Pics of whatever you decide!

I had a 2000 vette that I did all red and black and painted roof black and I loved it. So did the person who bought it. It was gloss black too. The way I started out was by plasti dipping it to see if I liked it and I did so I peeled it off and got it painted.
And the body shop I go to has such great prices I cant say no. Id guess hed paint roof for $200 in matte or gloss.

Difference between matte and frozen?

Wrap it in gloss black! Matte black will look weird on an otherwise gloss car. I'd go with either all matte (ie wrap the body in a matte color and the roof matte black) or a gloss roof on stock paint.

I wrapped my roof gloss black and I love it. I have the same bumper and lip too.

P.S. car looks great!

Gloss black for sure. Saw a white e92 the other day with a matte black roof and it just didn't look good. Definitely would have looked much better gloss black.

I just bought some 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl 60x48 off of ebay for $50. This particular vinyl seems to be extremely user friendly from what I've seen on YouTube. A heat gun and an extra pair of hands should be all you need. Most installers charge like 150+ from my experience so it's up to you which way you go.

+1 for gloss black as well. Not a fan of the matte thing.

Well if that's the case then its only 200-250 to wrap it. That's good enough

Just wrap it...I wrapped my wife's X3 with gloss black because I didn't like the matte or carbon due to the existence of the moon roof. With glossy black vinyl, the roof & the moon roof blends well.

Curious, I have a space gray, how would a gloss black roof look to you guys? Only mods I have are tint and the BMW PE, everything else is stock.

Also, I don't think it would look good with a carbon fiber roof or what do you think?

Edit: It does have a sunroof as well

Coupe. I believe i just saw your thread via google and you got it painted for $500 at your dealership??!! Details please and your reasoning for not just wrapping it like the above posters are suggesting?

For reference, I have the 230 style 19 in. wheels on my car.

matte black, cf vinyl, matte cf vinyl... these all look cheap and ghetto on a car... especially on cars with a sunroof. lol.

gloss black, glass, or real cf are the only ways to go for a roof.

How much did it cost you and was it done at dealership?

Oh okay. So my options are gloss black vinyl, get it painted, or a carbon fiber roof or wrap? I'm not keen on how carbon fiber roof or wrap would look on a space gray. I am just going for the option that looks good and not cheap.

Definitely do a wrap. Cheaper and reversible.

The wraps are easy enough to do yourself as well so they would be much cheaper
