D1S bulb brands and output?
From my experience the 6k MTEC D1S bulbs look a lot better and have the same output as the stock D1S bulbs.
Now, I'm hearing that the philips brand has a stronger output than stock or MTEC. I would like to know those with experience if the output is actually greater. I know all about the spectrum and that the lower the kelvin the more visibility you have, but how would you compare 6k bulbs among different brands (Philips, MTEC, DDM, Alpine, Sonic MS, etc). I just purchased the Sonic D1S bulbs and the visibility downgrade was very apparent. I have spoken to a Sonic rep and they mentioned that it could be that I am lowered but the problem is that I did not have an issue with the OEM bulbs so I am not too sure this is going to fix the issue. I may end up just taking a loss and going back to OEM. Hopefully though, they are right and somehow the headlights were changed when I was installing the new bulbs so the only thing I really need to do is aim is higher.
