There are several aftermarket hoods that come with vents, but I've not seen anyone here punch holes in their OEM hoods for vents. You'd need to be pretty good at metal work to make that come out looking nice, and keep water from entering the engine bay from the top end.

I know what you mean about getting m3 comments. To be honest though, I bought a CF vented hood for the pre lci e90. I wasn't feeling it. It doesn't sit right. In the end the m3 hood is just the nicest. The beautiful bulge and subtle vents suit the car most. Maybe just a nice bulge but no vents. Also, if you could retrofit an lci grille it would make it meaner.

Duke Dynamics has one without a bulge on it, but it's for LCI models: http://www.dukedynamics.com/products...hood/index.php

As far as I know, LCI hoods fit pre-LCI E90s as long as you buy the LCI grilles.

im thinking of buying a second hand bonnet and just having a play around. i like the bonnet that someone else posted on here which is a lci one with vents but if i can get a lci second hand i could get some stick on vents. thanks for comments.
