so are you trying to listen off the usb or trying to transfer to hdd? If you have i drive, go to entertainment and select AUX. You should see your usb device there.

Ok, so I tried it and it has a check mark beside AUX...
I went into the settings to "import/export" media and it said to enter the USB device.
The thing is.... it was already in the slot!
It still won't read it... I have a 16GB SanDisk Flash Drive....

Use the USB port in glove box. Also USB flash drive must be formatted FAT32.

I'm using the slot that is at the front of the car... not the arm rest.

How can I tell if it is FAT32?

My USB drive is being a pain too.. I play my music directly from it, and I have to keep unplugging in and re-inserting it. It keeps freezing and/or just not reading the device. It worked great for about a month, and now all I have is trouble with it.

I had this problem too. I was putting the USB in the glovebox connector but then trying to listen to it in the External Devices location and to record from there.

What you need to do is go into Music Collection instead, then go to options, import/export I believe. The manual had instructions under the Music Collection heading that I followed and eventually got everything working thank God.

Yay!!!

The only problem I have now is selecting RANDOM...
It seems that EVERY TIME I go out of the menu, or even start up the car, it plays songs in ORDER. I want random to be default.... is there even a way????

Aw man, I just realized I have been importing all my CDs onto my mac in the apple lossless format. No wonder I haven't been able to get mine to work. UGH!
