Vented hood + intake + rain
Hi guys,
I don't know if this was previously discussed but i have a question ? Wouldn't watter get into the engine if I have a K&N regular intake and a vented hood ( vents right on top of the filter ) ? I live in the west coast so it rains every other day on average Thanks

I researched the topic and never saw anyone having a problem with the vented hood. Even the E46 guys who had vented hoods and intakes.

You should have no problems with a vented hood and rain. Even with aftermarket intake like you said.
BMW engine bays are waterproof and anything short of a driving into a lake, you will not have to worry about hydrolock or any other issues. Check out this vid. |

The rain just ended in SoCal and I never had a single issue with water with my V35 hood + InJen intake + RSD Charge Pipe and HKS BOV other than the Engine Bay being a little dirty
