OEM Aero front lip questions?
How much is it to get this lip installed and painted? Does it scarpe or hit every speed bump when the car car is at stock height? What about dropped a half inch? How does it look in real life as good as the pics or does it look stuck on?

1) I ordered it painted from Tischer for about $520, installed it by myself in about 1 hour
2) With stock ride height (E92 with sport suspension), I have scraped the bottom against a tall parking curb 3) Dropping it half an inch will greatly increase the chance of scraping and damaging it 4) Sometimes, I do feel like it does look stuck on. Some parts are not flush, and it looks very obvious at certain angles. It bothers me, and if I have the money, I would go mtech. |

I feel the same way. I installed the lip last summer and while I liked the general look, I could not get used to the fact that it was stuck on. So I went for the full m-tech kit instead. It's a lot more $ but so worth it in my opinion.

yea, I'm thinking I either installed it incorrectly or my lip somehow got deformed during the baking process after painting. It's already my 2nd time installing. I followed the DIY and put 3M double sided tape where the indentations are. I think there are 4 or 6.. forgot. I put the bolts in the bottom.
The worst part is on the passenger side, slightly below the fog light. The lip is not touching the bumper and there's like a 0.75cm gap. Rocks, pebbles, and sand are always trapped inside and there's no easy way to get them out. |

Oh wait...so you dont like it because of the fitment reason?
I thought you didnt like it because you can obviously tell it was placed on from the sides of the bumper... |

The aero lip doesnt really sit that much lower than the stock bumper.
And yes the aero lip looks just as good in pics as it does in real life, see below:

Im on H&R Race springs (2'' in the front and 1.75 drop in the rear)
and I have 18'' wheels now, with my VRS Lip which is lower than the Aero and I have to drive careful because I scrape. Before I had the Aero lip with my drop and it was pretty damn low. I cracked my lip. My advice is to is. If your planning on staying with stock wheels and putting a lip. Then put a drop thats 1'' not 2''. If you plan on my putting 19'' + then get a drop thats 2'' to look aggressive. Good luck

I had some similar concerns, and really wish I just would have saved for msport front.
1. It picks up rock chips like no other. 2. It does look stuck on at times. Molded would look best, but I should just save and spend it on msport front. 3. I have not scraped it at all, but lowered, I would imagine you would. I clear most curbs, but only by a mm or two. 4. If you are going to get it, get it completely clearbra'd to ensure no rock chips. |
