saw a BMW test mule near Santa Barbara on 12/8
I was not able to take photos, but I did see what was clearly a BMW test mule north of Santa Barbara on 12/8 at about 11am. It had heavy cladding and although the shape looked clearly like a BMW, I was not sure until I saw the front with the signature dual kidneys. It was a black sedan and had cladding on nearly every panel. The size seemed to be about as big as a current 3-series, but may have been a 5-series.
The cladding was so heavy I doubt it was a new 5-series, so I wonder if it was a new 3-series? Any chance someone else saw the car? |

I did not see the incident you are talking about but BMW tests in the area all the time. When I lived up there I would see test cars every few weeks. We saw about 6 together heading north on the 101 about a month ago.

if it was heavy cladding it might have been an F30 3 series.
