That's not a bad price for no wait. Good luck with the sale

What's the 2009 RRP? I heard it went up earlier in the year

It's amazing how hard this watch is to get hold of in the western hemisphere compared to the east

£6170 , I was advised of a price increase in the near future .since nov 05 they have gone up from £3670 to £4000 to £4800 to £5450 to £5760 and now £6170 and a increase of another 10% this summer, I think its shocking but all the time we pay they will do it

I know your going to call me all the stupid names under the sun... but I got ripped off on e-bay, my fault really, bought a fake Daytona for 5k sterling
I was sooooo foooked off I went and bought a white gold Daytona with leather strap. It looks FAB but the strap ain't water proof . So all in all 14k on watches in the pat 3 years means I would love to buy it but can't bend "Her in doors" arm
Good luck with the sale

I was living & working in the Caribbean making shed loads of cash and got too eager. Basically I put in a bid but was piped at the post. The seller then contacted me saying the winning bid had dropped out and that the watch was still for sale. So like a cupid stunt I took the bate and the rest as they say is HISTORY. Oh I still have the Fake Daytona, but I can not bring myself to wear it, only because I have the real thing and I hate fake Rolex's

As a matter of interest, was it immediately obvious it was a fake? Is it still a reasonable quality watch or a twenty-dollar Thailand piece of crap?

The watch is a near perfect copy, the face is very good too. I was living in the Caribbean at the time and kept phoning my Dad to see if it had the stop watch function. That was when I knew, without seeing it, it was a fake The picture on the sellers site was an actual Rolex Daytona and the price was £4,000 to buy. I assumed, foolishly, it was real.

What a nightmare. Leaving all the morals of counterfeit watches aside, is the movement in the watch any good? Not a superlative chronometer, obviously, but I hear some fakes actually contain a very good movement (sometimes Swiss) and others contain Far East crap.

It gains about 5 mins per day so it is possible a good swiss movement

If it makes you feel any better I have 2 SS daytonas. One I use everyday and one that has never been out of the box.

Times got hard when the market crashed last year so I sold it to a local dealer and I somehow lost the cash the next day. No idea how but I think it was stolen from my flat by the cleaner but I have no proof.

Is that the one with WG strap? I was offered one 3 years ago (one of the first) but having spent £10,000 on a leather strapped one I couldn't quite afford it
I also fount out after buying that you can not retro fit the WG strap to my WG Daytona, different strap fittings
