Autostore
How do I use the autostore function on my non-iDrive radio? The radio manual states that I should hold down the "FM" button for a few seconds until the word "Autostore" appears on the display. When I do this, the word "Autostore" indeed appears on the display, but nothing is stored in memory (A1 ... A6). What am I doing wrong?
Thanks. |

I tried it and it worked on both AM and FM in a non-iDrive car. But it took a surprisingly long time to do it. zzzzzzzzzzzz

The A1-A6 spots are the automatically chosen memory spots for the signals that are strongest in that area if I'm not mistaken.
Press the button labelled for FM or AM again to switch to the non A_x numbered spots, then hold the button for the memory slots 1-6 on FM1 and FM2 for about two whole seconds before they get stored.

I tried again today - I held the 'FM' button for at least 10 seconds after the 'Autostore' appeared on the display. Still nothing... Has anyone successfully used the autostore function on their non-iDrive radio? I can manually store radio stations in the A1 - A6 spots, but that defeats the purpose of the autostore function.

Autostore does work. Once the Autostore shows up on the stereo release the button and wait. Mine took about at least 1min to program.

Thanks for the tip. I will wait for awhile (~1 min) to see if it starts to scan for radio stations. I might have been too impatient. On my other cars, 'autostore' or 'autoscan' takes seconds to complete the scan.

I took a trip to FL this weekend and this works pretty good. Hit FM until the A channels appear and then press and hold FM until AUTOSTORE shows up. Takes a bit but then the 6 strongest channels will fill in, can also do the same with AM. Or you can use these just like the other 12 FM stores by holding that button down with the freq selected.
