JB4 pro experience?

Hi all ,

I recently changed from my old 2017 540i to 2021 m3c xdrive. i know the best option is DME unlock and MHD etc but the new jb4 pro box looks like a decent bit of kit, my plan was to run a stage 1 e30 tune at most(famous last words) and with the flex fuel integration the JB4 pro can offer im tempted to give it a try

I went all out with my 540i, upgraded turbo, flex fuel etc but im trying not to go too far with this M3 build!

Check again, because 2021 only comes in RWD not xdrive. And no, unlocked are cheaper and easiest now, no need to go jb4 to end up unlocked on the future, cuz it will happend

Mine is a late 2021 EU spec and definitely xdrive

I know that the unlocks are now cheaper for the newer DME's but I'm not sure i will go chasing big power on this one, hence the suggestion of trying the newer JB4 pro setup first.

Once you crack open that DME and tune its flagged for life! These cars are a lot more expensive to buy here than in the US unfortunately and tuned cars tend to suffer larger depreciation in the used market.

I'm more interested to hear from anyone that has tried the newer JB4 pro than tuning box vs DME flashing discussion. ill probably used it for a few months and then be big turbo setup by Christmas

If the JB4 was easier to install, I'd be it's biggest fan. But that lower connector is an absolute nightmare.

Send it out to Autotuner and go full ECU unlock + MHD. Really not that much difference in price.

Trying to find supplier in Europe that has one in stock is proving difficult! i might just have to send the DME to Autotuner and get it over and done with!
