EVC Smart Control
The EVC Smart Control is the latest addition to the AWRON product lineup. Designed as a simplified alternative to the popular AWRON CANFlap system, the EVC Smart Control retains the essential exhaust valve control functions while offering a more compact and straightforward installation.



Installation
Simple Plug & Play Design installs inline of the factory harness and Factory EVC Controller. No running of wires or splicing, keyed Automotive grade connectors makes installation foolproof.

This system allows drivers to control their vehicle’s exhaust valves on demand, providing instant access to a more aggressive exhaust sound whenever desired - independent of the factory driving modes.



Overview
Taking full control of your BMW’s exhaust sound with the AWRON EVC Smart Control, included is a compact plug-and-play valve controller set designed for seamless OEM integration. Also included is a compact 4-button remote, you can instantly open or close the exhaust valves independent of the vehicle’s driving mode - giving you the ability to enjoy your BMW’s full exhaust character whenever you want. Unlike factory programming that typically limits valve opening to around 70%, the AWRON EVC Smart Control system allows 100% valve opening on demand for maximum sound and performance. The system operates by overriding the factory EVC controllers, ensuring proper operation without triggering fault codes or interfering with BMW diagnostic equipment.



Memory Function
The memory function allows the controller to remember your last used valve position after restarting the vehicle, while stock mode instantly restores OEM valve operation when desired.

Operation Modes

• Open Flap: Press the Open button to fully open the exhaust valves and keep them open regardless of the current driving mode
• Close Flap: Press the Close button to fully close the exhaust valves independent of driving mode
• Flap open (Memory + Open flap): Stores the valves in a permanently open position for the next engine start
• Flap closed (Memory + Close flap): Stores the valves in a permanently closed position for the next engine start
• Memory + Stock Mode: Returns the exhaust control to the factory ECU logic (1:1 OEM operation)

Control unit is in the device itself, couldn't be an easier install. Plugs inline of the connector and EVC - meaning no running wires.

Simple 10 minute installation.

On the surface, somewhat - if you’re just looking at the basic function.

Awron is known for BMW racecar engine swaps and CAN integration work. This kit is more of a simple side project we’ve been involved with for people who want a quick solution without having to run wires or hack up the car. Their DGA gauge displays were OEM equipment in Alpina vehicles for quite some time.

Here's an example of their daily B&B, S65 shoehorned into a Z3M Coupe. Awron specializes in making the components to get all the factory modules to communicate with each other.



At this level, the exhaust valve controllers are simple in comparison, but carry the same DNA as their engine conversion packages.

Awron components are manufactured in-house in Germany. They run their own SMT pick-and-place lines and build the electronics under strict E1 E-Mark/CE certification. Most of the other kits on the market are existing relabeled product, farmed out to Chinese suppliers or are essentially hand-soldered Arduino-based setups. We’ve actually dissected a few of these kits in the AWRON CanFlap thread, and it becomes pretty obvious what’s going on once you open them up. The remotes are usually the first giveaway - they all use the same cheapest-available (433 MHz) transmitters, which is why they all look identical. Awron uses their own remote for SmartEVC controller, and it looks sleek and modern.

All Awron kits use proper automotive-grade components, including BMW connectors.

It might seem trivial in the sea of aftermarket kits out there, but when you’ve been around this industry long enough you start to appreciate the difference between something engineered properly and something built to hit the lowest possible price point.

In checking the link you gave, under the supported models, I do NOT see the G42 M240i that was asked about. Am I missing something? I am also interested it this device.

We specialize in M-chassis models, so most non-M models will not appear on the site. I added G42 to the non-M listing.

ALL G-chassis are covered, including G42.
