Sport display unlock for power/torque guages

Anyone unable to rescale iDrive HP/Torque gauges with MHD on a Femto-unlocked ECU?

I’ve enabled the “increase iDrive power/torque gauges” option in MHD and reflashed a custom tune, but my sport displays are still capped at ~480 hp.

From what I’ve read, BMW may have blocked automatic scaling on newer DMEs/software (possibly specific to newer EU cars).

Does the fix require manual coding of the instrument cluster (KOMBI)? Or is there another way to push the higher scaling?

thank you

It worked for me on my 2023. I have MHD with the AutoTuner unlock, which shouldn't matter.

You need a custom tune. Post LCI doesn’t change the gauges. My 23 pre lci is showing 800/800 hp/tq but my LCI 25 didn’t without custom tune where tuner changed it

It doesn’t work on MHD for iDrive8. I have a custom tune where the tuner tried to get it to work and also spoke to MHD. They said extra coding is required (not sure what that means) but they are either unwilling to do it or it’s something they can’t do

Thank you. I also have a custome tune. Sounds like this is outside the scope of my tuner. I'll explore the coder options.

I don’t think you can do it with general coding that we can do for your cars but if you find a solution be sure to post it

Bump?
Is there any option to display approx hp/tq numbers with MHD+ tune
Is there a an app or solution or one of those gauges that goes in the vent ?
I asked MHD support and they said it’s not a priority feature for the post lci models last year in novemeber not sure has anything changed?

I wasn't able to figure this out.

kubax86 - do you know if the power display can be rescaled through coding? Or is it an ECU tuning thing on G8x LCI cars?

There’s no excuse for MHD to drag their ass with this. People need to start complaining on their social media posts about it and set some fire under their ass already.

mhd is blowing smoke up your asses, there is no coding for this. it's 100% in the tune and MHD is missing the map definition for the tables which hard cap the power and torque limits on the sport display and is enforced in idrive8.

i have mhd and i fixed it myself in my tune, your tuner could do it also if they can define the tables. mhd would have to fix it themselves for the OTS maps.

Thanks, Chris. MHD seems to be very busy right now. They keep moving back the timing for releasing no lift shift for the G8x which is one of the main reasons that I spec'd a 6MT.

you have a custom tune, it can be done without mhd involvement. your tuner needs to define the sport display limit tables and then increase the values.

Willing to $$&
the limitation is if you already have a custom tune, your tuner is almost certainly providing you with encrypted .mhd files, which only they can modify. if you happen to have your tune in unencrypted .bin then i could do it for you no problem, but otherwise your tuner needs to do it.

for OTA , MHD needs to fix them.

when you get a custom tune, you can ask your tuner to do it.

Folks should email mhd.tuning@gmail.com about fixing this globabally, and prioritizing the "no lift shift" function for the G8x 6MT.

Also ping Martial Hesse Dréville on linkedin.
