Sneak peek - Cando+ valve controller
Got the honor to test cando's valve controller, it pairs with the cando+ and allows you to open/close the valves with any trigger you choose in cando+.
There's 3 settings to choose, open valves(fully open, i checked), oem setting and toggle valves. Currently have it set to open when i press m1 and m2 buttons, on m1/m2 disable it sets them to the oem setting. Its a little metal box that installs in the trunk and to the valves, connects wirelessly to cando+, there's also an iphone/android app if you don't have cando+. Should be available soon. I was debating on getting the cando module, now this really sweetens the deal! Gonna keep a follow for the release of this controller!

Yes and no, awron uses the exhaust button instead of the m1/m2 buttons.

From what little I’ve seen it looks like the installation process seems easier, can you confirm? |

Never installed the awron so i have no idea, cando+ plugs into the canbus under the shifter and the valve controller plugs into the valves in the back and talks to the cando+ wirelessly. If you want to go into m1/m2 and open the valves at the same time this is the only controller that can do that.

Any info if this works on 6MT? Do you have to have a 3rd party valve controller prior to using this?
Edit: nvm. As you stated, this would replace any current aftermarket valve controller to be able to control via m1/m2 buttons or whatever Cando+ can control. Last edited by SLE3PER; 04-08-2025 at 09:27 PM.. |

You'll need the cando+ and this valve controller to be able to use it with m1/m2, don't think auto/6mt matters here, otherwise its app only if you don't have cando+

No, the awron ties into the actual CAN and is triggered from the exhaust button, but is also programmable to open and close at different RPM / throttle opening percentages. This from CanDO is essentially similar to other valve controllers which are simply open / closed, but it has a more elegant triggering mechanism than a cheap garage door opener.

Here are all the Triggers, the exhaust button I think is on a different lin bus so the cando+ can't see it.
You can however use the m mode and setup buttons as a touch trigger which is right beside the exhaust button, if you setup both to trigger the valves your don't even have to look down at them, just glide your finger over them and the valves should trigger, I'll test this later today.

Here's a 1 button press script that opens the exhaust valves, goes into sport mode and goes to the 4th "my bmw" widget in idrive 8 and opens the hp/trq/boost and oil temp screen. Pretty damn cool if you ask me
![]() View post on imgur.com Also tested the m mode/setup touch to toggle the valves, works like a charm and you even get the satisfying bong sound. View post on imgur.com

“Nav” and ‘Map” buttons are redundant I think so might be good to program one of those to the exhaust valves. Be cool if there was some kind of decal you could place over the button to show that it’s an exhaust button

Even the dsc touch button works, just no bong sound. It's the easiest to reach from the shifter. Anyway lots of choices here.
