2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 Limited Edition Announced
The 2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46.
Woodcliff Lake, NJ – February 24, 2025… Today, BMW M is proud to announce the all-new 2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 – a limited edition BMW M vehicle celebrating the 46th birthday of nine-time motorcycle racing champion and current BMW Motorsport works driver Valentino Rossi. This limited-production version of the BMW M4 CS will be available in two exclusive colors – Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic and Marina Bay Blue Metallic. A limited number of BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 cars in each color have been reserved for the U.S. market. Interested parties can pre-register on a first-come, first-serve basis at the dedicated registration page www.M4CSVR46.com. The pre-order registration page will be live from 6:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on Monday, February 24th, 2025 and will close on Friday March 28th, 2025 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. In 2025, No. 46 has turned 46 – and BMW M has the perfect present for BMW enthusiasts to mark the birthday of nine-time motorcycle world champion and current BMW M Motorsport Italian works driver Valentino Rossi. “The Doctor” himself was personally involved in the design process behind the two versions, both of which are limited to 46 cars each. The world-famous number, which is Rossi’s trademark, features prominently in several places on and inside the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 – including on the doors and the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof. "There is no other brand that has motorsport so deeply rooted in its DNA as BMW M. I am proud to be a BMW M works driver, and to share this passion. The fact that there is now a special VR46 edition, in which I was involved from the very beginning of the design process, makes me proud. When I see the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 out on the road or on the racetrack later, it will be very cool,” says Valentino Rossi about the edition and the collaboration with BMW M. Exclusive BMW Individual paint finishes and special exterior and interior details. The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 differs from the BMW M4 with its two exclusive BMW Individual paint finishes, which blend perfectly with the visible carbon surfaces, such as the hood contours. The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 variants feature either a Marina Bay Blue metallic finish, with both sides of the car adorned with a huge 46 in darker Tanzanite Blue metallic or a Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic matte finish with the 46 in Frozen Marina Bay Blue metallic on both sides. The BMW M kidney grille surround and a V spoke on the forged M light alloy wheels come in vivid Sao Paulo Yellow, with the latter indicating the position of the tire valve stem. In addition, accent stripes over the door frames of the Marina Bay Blue metallic cars are also painted in the special yellow color. Brake calipers are painted bright yellow and bear an M logo, are another nod to the iconic Rossi color. The carbon roof, which – like the sides of the car – is painted by hand and is adorned with a large VR46 logo, naturally in yellow, and a Valentino Rossi autograph. The trunk lid features VR46 lettering. The yellow accents continue in the interior of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46, which features Black/Night Blue Merino leather M Carbon bucket seat with Sao Paulo Yellow Alcantara shoulder area accents. The headrests, like the door sills, feature a prominent yellow VR46 logo. The three-spoke, flat-bottomed M Alcantara steering wheel comes with yellow contrast stitching and a yellow center marker at 12 o’clock position. The carbon center console features a special VR46 edition pad. Six-cylinder in-line engine producing 543 hp. The beating heart of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 is the high-revving 3.0-liter, six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which was designed for the track. The maximum boost pressure of 30.5 psi from the two mono-scroll turbochargers and model-specific tweaks to the engine management mean the special-edition model power plant generates 543 hp, which is relayed to the smart M xDrive all-wheel drive system and the active M differential via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. The spontaneous power development and optimized traction allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, and from 0 to 124 mph in 11.1 seconds. The top speed of the special-edition model, which comes standard with the M Driver’s Package, is electronically limited to 188 mph. Contributing to the excellent engine response is a model-specific engine mounts with increased spring rates. The rigid connection between the power plant and the vehicle’s structure enables direct transmission of power to the drivetrain every time the driver presses the accelerator. The oil supply system – like the cooling system – is designed to handle the specific challenges of track use, including consistently high revs and extreme lateral acceleration. The engine’s power delivery is accompanied by the stirring emotive soundtrack generated by the dual-branch exhaust system, which features electrically controlled flaps, a titanium rear silencer with weight-minimizing design and – in customary M fashion – two pairs of tailpipes painted in matte black. Model-specific chassis tuning and control systems. The chassis technology of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 has been tuned precisely to the performance characteristics of the engine, the intended use of the vehicle and its weight distribution. The individually tuned axle kinematics and bespoke wheel camber settings, dampers, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bars serve to optimize steering precision, transmission of lateral control forces when cornering, spring and damping response and wheel location. The electronically controlled dampers of the adaptive M suspension likewise come in a model-specific set-up, as does the electromechanical M Servotronic steering with variable ratio, and the integrated braking system. 46 – The trademark of an exceptional racer. The number 46 has accompanied Valentino Rossi throughout his entire extraordinary racing career and has become even more of a trademark than his nickname “The Doctor” or “Il Dottore”. Having seen his father Graziano Rossi race motorcycles with this start number, Valentino Rossi opted for 46 from the start of his career – and never swapped it for the number 1, as is the right of a current world champion. Rossi claimed his first world title in the 125cc motorcycle class in 1997. Two years later, he added a 250cc class title. In 2000, he took the step up to what was the top Grand Prix category, the 500cc class, in which he was crowned world champion in 2001. The following year, this category was replaced by the MotoGP class, and Rossi remained the dominant force. By 2005 he had added a further four world titles, and numbers eight and nine were to follow in 2008 and 2009. With these nine world championships and no fewer than 115 Grand Prix victories to his name, he is one of the three most successful motorcycle racers in history and a global motorsport and style icon. VR46 has become a worldwide trademark – and Rossi’s hometown of Tavullia, has even reduced the inner-city speed limit from the regular 50 km/h to 46 km/h in his honor. BMW M Motorsport works driver since the start of 2023. When the curtain fell on his motorcycle career at the finale of the 2021 season, Valentino Rossi turned his attention solely to automobile racing, having already attended multiple tests in Formula 1 race cars and made guest appearances in rallies and endurance races. Since the start of the 2023 season, he has been a BMW M Motorsport works driver, competing behind the wheel of a BMW M4 GT3 for BMW M Team WRT in series including GT World Challenge Europe and the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC), as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA). At the start of the month, Rossi finished runner-up in the Bathurst 12 Hour (AUS), the opening round of this season’s Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC). BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 Standard Features.

Awesome, glad they are releasing this version. Looks nice! That price tag is high. Very limited quantity too. I'll be happy to admire it if I see in person.

I don’t see this model being in high demand. Basically just cosmetics and decals, nothing really special. I’d prefer the CSL for less money.

No kidding there wise guy. My point is I don’t think they will sell very well. Didn’t make it special enough for that price point, in my opinion.

Special edition cars are often purchased for the rarity factor alone. These will sell and sell well.

The entire BMW marketing department responsible for these abominations should be banished to Siberia!
From the heinous Jeff Koons 8-Series to the boring ass Dark Shadow X7; all duds. (Special shoutout to the poor bastard on the X7 classifieds who got roasted trying to sell his “limited edition” X7 for $100K+.) Meanwhile Audi and Porsche are knocking it out of the park respectively with their limited edition cars. WTF!?! Last edited by ledphut; 02-24-2025 at 06:17 PM.. |

They put some paint and stickers to celebrate a birthday and then call it a limited edition? And let me get this part straight. For the price of $155,000. As in dollars?
And the stupid dealer markups that are definitely going to be added to the price! ![]() Last edited by deemo319; 02-24-2025 at 07:04 PM.. |
