Headlight not working

Hi, so I have a crashed G82. The right side headlight was not salvageable so I bought a used one, seller stated that it worked totally fine. Bought without the modules, but the modules from old headlight were in good condition so I just transfered those. Once I installed the headlight there was just no signs of life whatsoever, nothing. I know that the plug/wiring itself is fine, because once I plug in the left headlight into the right sides plug it works. I also tried two different sets of modules but that didn't solve the issue. Is the headlight just toast or does it need coding after replacing the headlight with same exact part code? Thanks

Oh and this is the original-crashed right side headlight.

The only difference is the MY and the last two numbers of headlight it is 9505120-03 while the new-used one is 9505120-04. Could that be the culprit?

Might want to confirm if the pins are the same layout for both part numbers with BMW if one doesn't want to turn on. Hope you find the culprit.

The difference in your part numbers is likely just differentiating driver and passenger sides. I believe the headlights do need to be coded to the car to function properly.

They're both same side headlights.

I'll try getting them coded, thanks

headlights dont get coded, the modules get coded. if you took your already-coded module from your old headlight and plugged it into a new headlight that is the same as the old headlight, coding shouldn't be needed.

Intresting. There is a chance that modules might be damaged without looking damaged and that's why it's not working. The original headlight was badly damaged, but since the modules are metal they survived the impact just fine. I also tried putting two new sets of modules in that are the yellow/amber DRLs but they probably need to get coded to work?

each headlight has one FLM (front light module) which is coded and controls the entire headlight. the DRL modules do not have separate coding, that is just an LED chip and a heatsink, it is controlled by the FLM.

anyway rather than speculate the next step would be to diagnose the vehicle electronically, see if the FLM is alive and what the status/codes are if it is.

These are all the fault codes while the right (new/used) headlight is plugged in, couldn't figure out how to check just the FLM fault codes. Keep in mind that none of faults have been erased since crash. "No communication possible with: Control unit in headlights, right" probably means the FLM is dead sincd the fault is "existant."?

typically that's what it means but you have multiple ecus not responding at the time that was taken, are the others expected?

Are we talking just about these faults?

If so:
1. Roof function centre makes sense, because whole headliner is taken out.
2. Left headlight control unit makes sense, because it was not connected at the moment of diagnostics.
3. Right headlight control unit doesn't make sense, prob FLM is dead from the impact although cosmetically is in perfect condition.
4. Engine electronics do not make sense, everything is connected up.
5. EPS do not make sense, everything is connected up.

This is the impact photo just so you would understand how everything looked:

I must note that there's strange very loud ticking/clicking sound from ECU area after I connect the battery terminals for a couple of minutes. Haven't figured what that is, assumed it's normal.
