We’ve developed a kit to make the G8X carbon buckets fully integrate with the F8X chassis!

Our testing will be complete this week and we will be offering it on our website by the end of this week or next week for pre order as we begin to order in the components for this kit so we can offer it for sale to our customers!

Spend $10k+ and lose airbag functionality? Lost seat heating? How about some controls backwards?

Our kit solves it all, we will be offering it in 2 options, the airbag retrofit kit, as well as the motor/heating retrofit. Since safety is a huge priority to us, we will be offering the airbag retrofit kit as a standalone offering, but to order the motor/heating kit, you must purchase the airbag kit as well, it will not be a standalone kit.

This kit is for those who have purchased a set of carbon buckets from the G8X platform, our kit has 3 variations, each increasing in price. First is the airbag only kit, this kit comes with hardware, wiring, sensors, and connectors to retrofit the G8X seats into the F8X chassis and make everything work the way it should. The second variation is for making the motors and heating work they way this should. This version has 2 options, the first being you ship us your factory F8X modules for reprogramming, and the second variant being that we provide new/used modules to work with your seats.

Did you mean to retrofit the carbon buckets into the E9X chassis?

If so, potentially. We haven’t had a customer reach out for this but we did keep this in mind during the R&D of this kit, from looking at the wiring diagrams, it is possible, with a different set of modules, and it would be a even more in depth install as it would require repinning on the main yellow connector. And likely cost more because of the additional connectors needed. As well as the addition of Can wires.

Also from what we can tell so far, it wouldn’t be possible to retain passenger seat occupancy, and that would need to be coded out.

It’s definitely “possible” if that answers your question, are we going to develop a lot for it? Not sure if the market is there, if someone wants to attempt this, we’d be happy to help and potentially develop of kit for this but as of this moment, we aren’t in the works for it.
