Outstanding Experience with Black Optix of Cedar Park
I recently purchased a 2025 BMW X5 xDrive50e for my wife and own a 2024 BMW M4 Convertible for myself. Living in Austin, TX, where summers are relentless, I’ve been eager to add heat-rejecting tint to my M4’s windshield and completely tint the X5. Historically, I’ve relied on SunBusters, who have consistently delivered great results using FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic Tint from LLumar. However, with rising prices, I decided to explore my options.
I began my search by reviewing highly rated tint shops (4.5 stars or better on Google) in the greater Austin area, including Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, and Georgetown. After speaking with nearly a dozen shops, I found their pricing to be consistent and on the higher end. Feeling a bit disheartened, I came across Jay, the owner and operator of Black Optix Tint in Cedar Park. Jay recently opened his Black Optix franchise earlier in 2024 and was eager to grow his business. Initially, I was skeptical but kept an open mind. After a brief email exchange, Jay and I had an extended phone conversation that completely convinced me. He mentioned a compelling Black Friday promotion and assured me his team would deliver exceptional results. Black Optix uses its own “Supreme IR” nano-ceramic film, made in the USA, which rivals the industry-leading products from LLumar and Xpel. The Supreme IR specifications were as good, if not better, across all categories when compared to LLumar and Xpel films. Before entrusting Jay and his team with my wife’s new X5, I decided to test their work on my “baby,” the M4. From the start, the Black Optix Team of Jay, Joe, and Jesus demonstrated exceptional care and professionalism. They allowed me to observe the entire process, from windshield prep and film cutting with their state-of-the-art printer to the meticulous installation and final inspection. Jay’s attention to detail was unmatched. At one point, he noticed a minor imperfection, peeled off the film, and started over—even though I wouldn’t have noticed it myself. That level of dedication gave me complete confidence in his work. After installation, Jay explained the curing process, mentioning that minor air bubbles would disappear within a few days. True to his word, the windshield tint cured perfectly, and the results were flawless. The film is so precise that you can’t even tell the windshield is tinted. Jay even took an extra step of transferring my Texas Registration and TxTag toll tag windows stickers onto static cling plastic, making future replacements hassle-free without risking damage to the windshield tint. Impressed by this experience, I confidently scheduled the X5 tint. Once again, Jay and his team delivered a first-class experience. Jay guided me through selecting the right tint darkness (20% on the front driver/passenger windows and virtually clear 70% on the rest), while Jesus prepped and they both completed the installation with the same precision and care. Within a few hours, the X5 was ready, and the results were flawless—just like the M4. After seeing how Jay and his team treated both of my vehicles, I’m now considering their other services, such as ceramic coating. From the initial consultation to the final delivery, my experience with Black Optix of Cedar Park was smooth, efficient, and stress-free. Jay and his team exemplify what outstanding customer service looks like. If you’re considering tinting, wrapping, PPF, ceramic coating, or any other services Black Optix offers, look no further. They’ve earned my trust, and I wholeheartedly recommend them. |
