The M4CS is a monster and performance-wise lines up with the 992 GTS. One observation is just how big most of these sports cars are. I sat in a 718 cayman today and a 992 GTS, and it’s just eye opening how big the new 911 is, and it feels almost luxurious compared to the 718. Speaking of which, I’d put the 718 GTS, GT4, and Spyder at the top of “lively feel and engagement” and around this track I’m wondering why they didn’t insert the GT4RS into the mix. The s/t is unobtainium, but there are 100 718GT4RS out there. Sure they’re $200k+, but they’re available. Anyway, if you’re going to track a car and use it for daily the m4 wins hands down.

I would take a G80 over any 718 including a GT4RS and a 992 GT3 over either. |

Up to about 85 mph on the manual GTS4.0, yes- if red-lining is your thing. PDK has better gearing and the GT4RS has even more optimized gearing

yes, on the street. its a different animal though. it doesn't weigh much therefore the 3 pedal car's gearing never really bothered me. I would say it's in-between being a momentum car and a very fast car (on the track). 4th was the best gear for cruising and just listening to the flat 6. I had a 718 gt4 for short while.

I can comment on this one. The 718 with manual is in theory my perfect toy, I mean come on, Porsche has it dialed in with this one. Sure there might be some older interior design elements, but that only helps feeling connectedness. And as a big and tall guy, even though it's small outside, there's a ton more room than in the Miata, which makes it comfortable. But pretty much within a few months I realized just how little it's just me driving without a destination, or without at least one passenger and a bit of luggage. I know, I know, relative to other cars Porsche storage is top tier, but in absolute terms it's just too small. I need the sedan set up so that there's enough practicality to use it regularly (not daily mind you, just enough to avoid garage queening). I hope you'll have an amazing experience with yours and won't run into that challenge of always being the one you want to drive, yet somehow most of the time taking out something else when the time comes. (Who knows, maybe someday I'll be able to convince the wife to let the girlfriend sit on her lap and we'll be back to just 2 seats. j/k) |

I pick the 911 S/T over the CS
Forget the back seats I don’t need to accommodate anyone that badly I’d rather have them follow me then drive them around

Well, you would expect the 911, M3, and Maclaren, to be a step above the Toyota, VW, Hyundai, Mustang, etc. Seems a glaring omission to not include the Corvette?
