How did you pay for your G80/G82?

Just curious to know how many of use cash, vs. financing with BFS, vs. credit union, vs. second mortgage, vs. sell one of the kids (OK maybe not the last one), but you get the idea. Not trying to be scientific about it. I didn’t see a poll specific to this question through search, but if anyone has a link I’m glad to take it. Thanks much.

Credit Union for my current '23 G80; and with rates as they are; it's looking like Credit Union again for this one.

I'll be financing about 50% of it, probably through BMW. Their rate is basically the same as my bank.

Credit Union - 1.99% for 36mo, financed total purchase price cause it’s at 2%! Saving a bundle on interest!

These cars are luxury toys so my philosophy is to pay cash.

This one will be my daily driver/kid hauler. I paid cash for my “toy” - the track car BRZ.

Still waiting for an M3. It will be 100% credit union financed including the extended warranty. GAP insurance is a must. Cash goes into 3+% dividend or growth stocks. No toy cars. One, all-purpose car.

Financing. A lot of more productive things I can do with the cash while paying the car off.

Polish Slavic Credit Union. October was Polish Heritage Month with special offers. I’m a new member, don’t know if they repeat offers throughout the year. However, super great to work with. They are head and shoulders above big banks.

As long as you spend $10/yr to support their cultural partners, you will be member of the union. I’m also really, really good looking, so that helped.

Wow. I didn't even know it existed. Out of curiosity, what was the rate and term?

Depends. In 2021, they had a 0.9% financing, so I did a down payment and the financed the rest. That rate is basically free money.

At today's rates of 6+.... I wouldn't finance more than 10-20k, if any. Too high for my taste. I'd rather wait an extra year to have enough cash, and park in cds while I wait, than pay a rate like that on a car
