Once it gets moving it's great. But from a standstill, it has no boost under 3000 rpm. Can't have it all I guess.

I stop listening to people who say this car has no turbo lag.

lol - I’ve timed mine at 2.9s 0-60mph - what a really poor standstill stat lol

It’s easy to keep the G8x cars on boost, that’s what the gearbox is for, no?

All turbo cars have some turbo lag, other than those that have started to utilise electrification to spool it up

If you keep these cars at the right RPM there is minimal turbo lag - like any car (ICE vehicle) - turbo or NA - you have to understand it’s power band and use the gears accordingly to keep it in the power band

It’s basic driving skills…

I don’t know how I missed this original posting three years ago, but I was so grateful to see this link and be able to review it.

I’m really gonna miss that trio and their wonderful series and I’m so glad I got to see this review of one of my favorite reviewers talking about one of my favorite cars, thanks mate

No worries. I happened to be waiting on my G83 when I read it back in 2022. It made my day when I read it, and added to the anticipation. 32K miles now and everyone of them with a smile on my face.

That's not turbo lag, it's boost threshold.

Every M3 (and in turn, M4) we’ve driven previously has grabbed us within the first five minutes. Be that by the heartstrings or scruff of the neck, depending on which version we’re talking. This one is more of a slow burner, a car that takes a bit longer to get under the skin of. But which is really quite brilliant once you do.”

I wonder why?
