Upgraded turbos and supporting mods
Hey guys, I’m looking to upgrade my turbos on my G80 to the pure turbos. Although right now I’m running just e50 and catless down pipes and intakes. What mods do I need to support upgraded turbos? Do I need upgraded manifold and charge pipes? I’m looking at probably just do E 50 on upgraded turbos.

The upgrades will depend on the power goals. I recommend you start by picking a custom tuner and talking to them about your goals. They will recommend what to upgrade for a safe and reliable build.

You can do E40-50 on stock fuel system with hybrid turbos. No other bolt ons needed, but you do need a custom tune since bigger turbos demand more fueling from the DI.
Right now I’m dialing in Paul’s Flex tune for upgraded turbos, which gives full power at E40-50, but can run up to E85 with limited boost (to keep fuel supply happy).

Maybe he is saying to replace them since they have some miles on them. It’s ideal for an engine like this to change often. Especially with upgraded power levels. I’m going to change mine every 10k. Cheap insurance.

im FBO right now with E30
I will be upgrading to a custom map and E50 After that, I will upgrade my turbos. Then go PI and another custom map its going to take a year or so but i hope by the end i will have the comparison between all the different stages with the pros and cons of each
