Just got my M3!
I haven't posted on this forum in a while, so I am finally coming back!
I just got my 2024 M3, Mexico Blue/Daytona Beach blue, with Ivory interior. Prior to this I had an amazing 2011 Black sapphire 335iIS with the expensive to maintain/repair N54, awesome DCT, bright silver Apex PS7 wheels, owered with the BMW performance suspension, and addition of M3 suspension components. I LOVED this car. The handling was enough, the steering feel was amazing, the DCT felt great, the smaller and lower car was fun to drive. So, when it was TOTALED, I was quite disappointed. Luckily, before it was totaled, I placed the M3 order, and 9 months later, a beautiful Mexico Blue baby was delivered! Things I have noticed that I wish BMW could work on: - the BMW 335iS Harmon Kardon actually sounded better - steering feel... I wish it was like my 335iS - I HATE the whole cruise control section on the steering wheel, I just don't use it, and wish it was for audio/volume control. Too bad they did not use the scroll knob to control volume. - I also have a Tesla model 3 and I am spoiled at how convenient that car is, easier entry and exit and autolocking, just amazing what a base model 3 can do that the M3 can't, including an amazing Navigation system. - the vented seats are kind of a joke compared to Tesla, but better than nothing! - the rear bumper is super flimsy and flexes a lot, noticed while cleaning... my 335iS, Tesla, and any other car I've had did not exhibit this level of flex. May be it is just better for the crumple zones? But despite these minor things, this is an amazing car. I have not gone through the break in period, but I still drive it hard (keeping it under 4-5k RPM), and puts a smile on a face like no TESLA can. Definitely the best vehicle purchase I have ever made. I plan to make some small upgrades, but also keep the factory warranty. So I'll be getting the BMW HAS Kit, hopefully a valvetronic exhaust (I do not think this will void the warranty), full PPF, windshield tint. After the factory warranty is expired, I'll explore tuning! I hope one day someone can find a way to code better speedometer and tachometer options. I haven't purchased the maintenance plan yet but I am looking around for good prices so I can have brakes covered. So I'll keep everyone updated if I can find good pricing. Anyway, I have attached some pics and wanted to introduce the new baby! |

He’s talking about the seat rolling back and forth automatically as you get in and out. Honestly OP, that option technically puts more wear and tear on the seat mechanism, so it’s more hassle than it’s worth. Be grateful you don’t have a car that you can’t turn that Off from happening, like an Alfa Giulia.

Also the entry seat position that adjusts to driving seat position automatically is a great feature that I wish the m3 had. The m3 seats appear to be always in the same position. But as noted, it’s probably better to avoid the auto seat due to wear and tear. I thought my 2011 335is did have this and it was 13 years old, still working before it was totalled. May be it didn’t have it and I’m wrong. |

Nice build! Completely agree on your point on the HK. I find that the new one is disappointing compared to older models (I had HK in 2019 M2C and 2017 M240ix).

Oh man, I didn’t know it existed; wish we had that!!! But not a deal breaker. I’m sure I’ll survive using archaic keys 😂. I did just look it up and the BMW Fremont site noted “Any 2024 and newer BMW with the iDrive 8 operating system should also be compatible with Digital Key Plus.” Going back to my records, I saw that production started on 5/2024 for my G80. I’ll assume that this website is incorrect… |
