That M3 gets out so well (Mat knows the hand drop by design) but the power gap is just too much to overcome.

I think the RS7 in this iteration is the best (Ive had 2 prior versions) but its still a big boy car with the engine mounted just a bit too far over the front axle.

Not sure why this post didn't get people attention.
Maybe because it is Apple to Orange comparison. Two cars from two different class and price point. The only common thing is that both are touring.
Put this RS7 next to F9x M5/M8 in a good surface / weather and see the result ...
Anyways good job M3 Touring

Audi really lost the plot recently by dropping the manual transmission option. Audi used to be great because you could get an AWD V10/8 wagon with a stick.

Not sure why Audi dropped the manual, people still want them!

At this point, the only real manual sports saloon option is either the G80 (which I did), or the CT4/5 V Blackwing.

It’s a true shame that I am at a point in my life where I am able to afford some cool cars but they are all going electric and automatic… two things I don’t like.

RS7 should be compared to M6 GC of past, or current M8 GC. M3 in any form would go against RS5 of equivalent. Never understood these comparisons.

Bananas to carrots comparison again. They just drag race random cars for fun and get paid on top it.

Kinda jealous here!!

Vic - will you get the new R7? Any interest in trying out the new M5 Touring?

For now the RS7 is not on my radar but maybe the RS6 which of course could be compared to the M5T. I mean what kind of M fanboy would I be if I didnt at least try out the next gen M5.

The Touring version does intrigue me so we will have to see. Right now I just got the LCI M4 and the M3 CS which are both amazing rides so I need to enjoy those too.

People say they want them....manufacturers offer them....sales are abysmal....manual is canceled.

Car companies are about making money. Not catering to "enthusiasts" who say they want a car and don't buy it. I'm definitely sad about this, however I do understand the financials.

I agree that this isn’t a great comparison but it is still exciting watching them race. Thanks for sharing the video.
