Here is the retail pricing guide for the 2025 M3 LCI. I've never uploaded a pdf before so I hope I'm doing it right.

This was announced in March and is not a surprise since other automakers had increased their fees previously. The $995 D&H fee had been in place since June of 2015. I was actually pleasantly surprised that it did not go even higher.

If you think it's gotten expensive to ship a vehicle from Munich to Michigan, you should see how much it costs for the long and arduous journey from Dearborn.

Looks like executive package gives you the curved display. I thought it was standard? What does the non-executive package infotainment look like

It's a bit misleading.

It's just saying that it is the curved display with HUD; just like it says M Compound Brakes with red calipers... the M compound brakes are standard of course.

Price increase (for the g82) is off the chart.
I built a like for like spec of my car last weekend and on the road now (without frozen deep grey, now not an option due to every new M model launched having it) it’s plus £15k (with another random frozen paint chosen)
You get cheaper/downgraded headlights, downgraded LED interior lighting, no ‘M4 comp logo’ on door sill covers, no M badge on rear brakes, no rear climate control (useless but not the point) and so on.
I’m happy with my OG non LCI G82X, first time in 20 years I’ve not felt like upgrading.
Only thing on my list is rear laser lights, then I have the perfect spec.

Mind you that they build these econoboxes in good ole Tennessee….

$1,175 for shipping a luxury car from Germany feels like a bargain…

So my car is exactly $35 more as a 2025 than a 2024. They lowered price on the paint, upped the price on the leather, and other things, but also eliminated lasers.

Indeed. Mostly due to the price drop for my color choice (Tanzanite Blue) and to my leather choice (extended, not full), my 2025 LCI order (which moved to 112 status last week) ended up being just $130 more than the corresponding 2024 would have been if I had ordered it in May -- and that 2025 total includes $100 for galvanic controls. So the net price increase in my case is a mere $30. Call me pleasantly surprised.

It would be nice if this list also included the two default BMW winter tire setups from go.

Just wishful thinking.

Yeah aventurine got cheaper which help offset the cost, but if I build my spec with x drive it’s now over 100k. I got mine after discounts and everything for 80

No I don't. And it is not my point either.

This profitiering is true for all models. For instance I got my X5 m50 with leather at no extra cost when I paid 100K. Now they want extra money if I want leather instead of some synthetic pleather but the base price is the "same"! So basically, they now charge me extra for the leather which is pure profit. If I pay for the leather, they will make extra money; if I don't, they will sell a lesser car for the same price and make more profit.

Increasing destination charges while gas prices, etc. are still the same, is adding to their profit on buyer's cost.

One needs to consider that wages, costs for parts, etc., have also increased. It’s not all profit.

Not giving you what was included in the price previously while keeping the MSRP the same as before is Marketing 101. They act as if you get a good deal while you are getting a lesser product. They delete laser lights, soft-close doors, leather but the price is the same or slightly higher and we are happy.

When you check the increase in car prices since the 1950s, the car prices increased much more than the inflation rates or wage increases. It is not always directly parallel with input material prices or wage increases. There is always a "reason" like global economic crisis, material shortage, or recently, Covid.

This has been done for a long time, especially in countries with continuous high inflation rates since the people there cannot calculate the real inflation any longer as the official numbers and the daily price changes are very different and most of the time unrelated.

It is a simple trick to make more money without increasing the price. But if you wanna believe that it is reasonable, fine.

As someone who works in the industry - car makers have figured out that demand for cars (especially luxury cars) is relatively inelastic against price. Increases in costs are largely unaligned with global inflationary pressures post 2023 - rather shareholder returns have driven the market we see today.

American automobile customers have zero issue taking on increasing debt for cars. If you’re an exec at an OEM - why wouldn’t you increase MSRP? There is almost zero demand destruction that follows.

Wanna know why the G series cars sell so well? It’s because the average BMW M custoner is radically different than the customer of old in terms of being willing to take on debt and spend substantial portions of their income on a car. I’m willing to bet BMW could increase base MSRP on the m3/m4 another $5-7k and see very little reduction in demand - it’s what? Another $80 on a 84 month loan? The average customer of today is not going to care.

The G8x is arguably the best performance car you can buy in this price range. Handling, braking, suspension, steering wheel feedback. My MSRP in 2022 was $73.5k for the 6-MT. To your point VR1, my same build today would be 6.5% more and it wouldn’t be a deterrent. I’m on the build your own site now

Still nickle and diming buyers for basic features like remote Start, heated steering wheel, power tailgate... Not only that, they put these in different packages so likelihood of dealer having the right color with right package is going to be slim. I have nothing against the outrageous base price, it is what it is, but it seems to me that they are really driving some enthusiasts away. It's just becoming a showpiece at this price point when you add necessary packages and options.
