Disappointing that the M4 CS doesn't have the 20hp bump like the LCI M4 Comp

The first post about this is already a negative? It already has a 40-hp bump!

Based on my M3CS experience, this is going to be a cracking car without a doubt. I hope prospective buyers won't pass this opportunity up. And it will look the part too. Well done, BMW, IMO.

I just picked up my M3 CS last night. Whole difference experience IMO from the 23 M3 Comp I had.

The M3CS had a 40hp advantage over 2023 M3 Comp, but now the gap is reduced to only 20hp

I don’t think anyone really believes that there is only a 20 Hp gap; and absolutely no one that’s driven both cars would. The update for the Comp is more of a ‘true up’ to the power that it was already making.

The M3 CS tune has been dynoed at 600hp.

Do the math on the difference

I've currently got an M4CX and had an M3CX on order until last week, due for delivery in March - however my local dealer gave me first refusal on an M3 CS they have managed to source, so I'd be interested to hear the main difference in your experience between the two cars (as I can't f***ing wait to receive mine in a few weeks!!! )

CS cars have Different geometry, tuning suspension, camber, steering input, transmission, throttle response.. it is tuned differently, and even has different parts for the front suspension.

I wouldn’t mind buying a CS but I’m gonna have to spend 5- $7000 having the hood painted and all the ugly crap that Bmw puts on it.

I ended up not doing an M3 CS for a few reasons. The lack of surround view camera, and lack of rear HVAC were the two mains ones. I am not sure this gen has any new parts on the suspension and the rest is software this generation. The weight difference was only 38 lbs less than a Comp Xdrive car which isn't a big deal at all. That's not to say the CS isn't a good car because even before I had my xdrive I has a G80 M3 6MT and it too was great. I just don't think the styling of the CS and the compromises made sense for me.

I don't even think BMW has changed anything with the LCI. Its all marketing. Just like the G87 getting a bump to the base G80 HP...that it already dynos at. Marketing.

This is the one thing I wish my CSL had. I definitely got used to relying on that in previous cars. Kinda feel blind without it.

I nearly bought a CSL and it definitely didnt bother me as much on that car but given how much of a footprint these cars have I can understand it in that case too. I always have to adapt when I get in 991 or GT4 after the G80 M3 - it's just so nice to see everything.

Is it gonna have the gross headlights too?

Or did it make it past the LCI?

M3 CS will have 4 doors and laser headlights, and the M4 CS will have 2 doors and laser taillights (and a few different color options).

It’s not going to have either, they’re going back to xenon HID lights from E92.

So you are assuming BMW has always underrated their engines except for the new models where they are going to be more in line with their actual numbers?
I am sure when the new ones come out they will have more power on the dyno. Whether anybody can actually feel the difference is a different story.

Maybe this is what they’ve been saving Laguna Seca for.
