Certainly came around since the early days of their G80 taxi.

Fast car and a fast driver who knows the track well, but man does he take some chances on overtaking. He runs up the back of cars HARD. As shown in many of his videos, people do unpredictable things under that pressure; these are not race drivers. One day someone is going to take him out on an overtake. I don't wish it on him an maybe there is more room in it than the videos show but damn.

In any event, yes, that thing is an absolute beast.

He does seem to throw caution in the wind. Obviously, he drives like this to make his videos more interesting but he's taking serious risks. And he's been in a few crashes already. The Nurburgring is basically a public road with no speed limit. Anyone, in virtually any car (the only restriction is that it must be capable of exceeding 80 mph) can pay 30 euros and drive. As a result, you get unskilled drivers, cars that have no business being on a racetrack and traffic jams. I will never understand why anyone would let him drive their (usually rather expensive) car in this fashion.

I feel the same way when i watch Misha’s videos on youtube. One day he will get trouble not because of him(he is a great driver), because of other unexperienced drivers. I was twice on a track and if there is a lot of traffic behind me i got such a stress that i can’t focus anymore and almost forgot how to drive and then i always move over and let them pass.
Lot of people have their first track experience on the nordschleife, we are humans, we make mistakes, i would definitely shit myself if i saw Misha in my rearview mirror.

He knows this track better than most people ever will & this was with 3 medium sized adults in the car. The CS is the one to get...

Saw this video. He was an absolute menace out there most his videos he’s not typically up this many peoples a holes but I think he was just really feeling and loving the car. But like a few others said he’s run this track for probably well over a few thousand laps and knows it far better than most and can anticipate unpredictable drivers fairly well.

Sweet video.

Bummer BMW no longer allows for European Delivery. I remember I drove my e90 M3 and F87 M2c on the Nürburgring. Damn I miss it!

Yeah some of his moves I would not make at my experience level, but you can kind of tell what line most people will take, as as long as you make your presence known and position yourself, it’s not as risky as it may appear. There are a few times he is too late in positioning to cut inside, and he does pull back. With enough experience you can tell who’s going to overshoot and what line they will take, if they are unpredictable etc like that Tesla, which was kind of all over the place.

Yeah, I had like 3 track experiences, not even full track days, under my belt when I ran the Ring this summer. I watched as many videos as I could, then did the Ring Taxi in the morning and did some of the sim racing on site early afternoon. That actually helped a lot. Then I rented a car for 4 laps, first one with an instructor.

By FAR the most stressful thing I had to deal with was faster traffic overtaking. Which was like 75% of the cars out there considering I was driving a 230i.

I will tell you that even driving in my mirrors with zero ego. (Had family in the car and told them I wouldn’t be stupid), sometimes it’s hard to know when / how to get over if someone suddenly appears behind you when you’ve started an overtake. Or are exiting a line and are getting close to the limit of grip. You can’t just yoink the car offline to get out of the way. On that track, with the elevation and the forest, cars appear out of nowhere behind you.

The car is so obedient to his inputs, yet compliant to the road! Truly an amazing machine, and honestly, he wasn’t pushing it to its limits. Traffic made that basically impossible, but seeing what it could do in traffic is equally impressive. That high speed braking check at over 100mph was impressive. Brakes bit with serious authority and the car never seemed stressed. I want one also now lol

This is a very important fact as I’ve seen a few times in track people unsettle the car for the sake of trying to move outta the way when that was not the time to be doing so.

People def do panic it’s a matter of staying predictable and holding your current pace without doing something erratic when someone is creeping in the rear view but it’s public road so as mentioned, carries a variety of people on the road.

I felt the same way for probably like a year after it came out but there are some really good aftermarket replacements available but even as is it’s definitely grown on me. I mean Lexus has been doing that grill on their entire product line for how long now it’s almost to the point where you don’t really even notice it anymore.

I got banned from the G80 forums for 8 months for hating on the "stock" grille. However, these aftermarket grills make the car look fierce....to the point where I want a G80 now...badly.

As far as this video goes....it shows how great this car performs and how much confidence you can have with it.
