Building a 1000HP G82 M4 - Mosselman+CSF+PI Install + Dyno Results

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com

With the S58 engine having been rebuilt with Mr VANOS MV1500 rods and the ZF transmission upgraded by Pure Drivetrain Solutions its time to see just how much power we can make.

With a goal of 1000hp we have a few parts lined up ready to try make that reality:

Mosselman S58 Hybrid Turbos as we have reached the limit of the standard turbo. A CSF Inlet Manifold to withstand the extra boost pressure we will be running and allow us to install a Port Injection kit from Tensility Motorsport. This is required as we have reached the limit of the standard fuel system, especially when running on full E85.

We get all the parts installed then head to our friends at MSL Performance to get the car on their dyno and carry out our custom ECU tuning to see if we can reach that magic 1000hp number.

Dyno figures are one thing, but I'm sure you're all going to ask how it performs in the real world (and I can't blame you I would too!) - With initial dyno setup complete we are now moving in to refining the tune in real world conditions and dialling in the setup, and I hope to have Dragy data to share with you all soon.

Can't wait to see how it does on the road. Well done, definitely a future plan of mine to go this path.

For the motor build, how would a US customer go about a stage 3 package with you?

Thanks!

For US customers if you contact us we can recommend a shop who can carry out all the parts installation. Currently we would advise the engine be shipped to us in the UK to be rebuilt. Then we can tune remotely.

Possible to post the 93 octane comparison?

Or also post the stage 2+ e85 numbers.

Hard to identify how much was fuel and tuning vs turbos.

We don't get 93 octane so can't really show that, and didn't really think many customers would do PI and full E85 but stick to stock turbos, so we chose to go this route for now. We'll continue to explore other combinations as the platform matures.

Our data calibrator has done a Decat+Eventuri+PI+E85+Stock Turbo car in Australia that made 870hp, so you could roughly say 150ish more, but we haven't pushed these turbos to their limit yet, there's more to come!

Can you post the 99 octane comparison?

99 octane turbo kit vs 99 octane stage 2+?

We haven't tuned the car for anything other than full E85 currently, we're bringing you our development pretty much live and direct!

On an initial calibration run (so no PI running and no tune changes) it made from memory around 720whp with the Mosselman turbo's on Stage 2+ tune.

I also run the Mosselman turbos. Is this the standard ones or the extreme version they will be releasing soon since the don't recommend going past 36 psi on their standard turbos on E85?

These projects remind all of us why we drive the cars we drive. Some of us will be the last drivers of ICE vehicles.

I’m loving that torque curve… you can see you all are controlling/capping the peak torque value.

Looks like there's more juice in them beyond 7k, could be time to start raising redline? S58 redline should have always been 7500-7600 like the S55, it was just the ZF holding it back and since that's built now...

I have M8 cp stage3 running 100oct gas.
ZF8 tuning ,I did TCU stage 3, is the only way to hold 1050Nm .
So the limit was raise to the max ,1000Nm and works in perfect synergy with the ecu remap with big turbo.
Shifting is amazing fast seems a DCT.
Very happy!
Remember to drive randomly in drive efficient for 80kms after gearbox remap for adaption, very important !

Haha... Are you sure you know the meaning of word "properly"?
