BMW created an everyday supercar in the CSL; they should have gone the extra mile on something like this to create an M1 instead of building the XM.

1000000% agree with that, look at what ford did with that Mustang GTD. I have been saying the same thing for years, they are lacking in that department and IMO theres a market there for it. The 3.0 CSL isnt it and the XM isnt even a true M car IMO.

Uh, the Mustang GTD is built by Multimatic, has a transaxle layout, is mostly carbon fiber and will cost over $300k. Hardly an "everyday super car"

Im more concerned with performance personally and can deal with a lot of inconveniences for more speed and better handling. Sub 7 minute Nurburgring time will be very impressive IMO. Not everyday supercar you're right there maybe more like supercar killer if it can deliver as promised.

Suggest you stay away from AutotopNL then.

I would also say, having been able to drive it a handful of times, that I'd rather do 187 on the autobahn than 80 in the US any time. At least there the roads are maintained and people understand the rules of the road and lane discipline.

I grew up in Germany, lived in the US for over 8 years and returned in 2018. I drove many fast cars on the Autobahn, unlike US interstates / highways, it’s built for higher speeds and there’s a survival rule: stay on the right lane, unless you got a fast car!
And yes, driving at such speeds is dangerous, mostly due to others on the same road. Nonetheless, it can be done, especially at night. Here’s an older pic of my speedometer, there’s still room left 😁

He does know it. In fact he specifically states in the video that it would settle down a bit with its "geo done" as he says.

It’s a car that needs taming! I like it, A LOT. Fast, fun, not for the feint hearted. But it’s predictable in its behaviour, what it doesn’t tolerate is half measures. Either go for it, or don’t. Cup 2 R tyres are ‘fun’ in the wet! 😂

Same and 100 percent true. America is #1 in the world for many things. Following the rules, infrastructure of highway systems are things we are not good at. Most of that has to do with The United States being 50 different countries

As to the CSL….meh. BMW does not do these right. Sorry. Parts bin leftovers don’t seem that special to me. Esp when I am paying more, almost twice as more, for less. $10 grandish and some leg work, one could exceed CSL performance.

M3 and m5 are everyday supercars . CSL 3.0 costs 700k and is a weird novelty , I have no idea why anyone would ever want one of those.
Mustang GTD is gonna cost 300+k. Who tf cares about ring time on your daily driver. That generally means you’re driving extremely unsafe on public roads. Grow up

Then buy a race car. Caring about ring times in a daily driver is absolutely moronic. Race cars are for racing. Daily drivers are for the road. You can build a race car that will go sub 7 far far cheaper than any of these cars.

Went to college in Germany and lived there long time. It's much safer to drive at high speeds in Germany than slowly in most other countries. People know how to use lanes and what speed is. They also know that no matter how fast of a car they have, there will be someone faster! Besides, they build and maintain autobahn stretches extremely well. Most of our interstates and highways are in horrible condition in comparison. Really missed driving on A3 at top speed at night!
