**WARNING** OTA Software Updates

My '22 X4MC (LCI F98) rec'd the OTA (03/2023.67) software two days ago. Unfortunately, BMW has apparently introduced a new coding file for the BDM module, and possibly others as well. In effect, they have locked us out

If you are coding with ProTool, we can no longer access this module. There may be other modules as well.
I'll be turning off "automatic software updates" today. Bummer.

Appreciate the heads up - I've been avoiding updating due to not wanting to sift through re-coding stuff and this doubly confirmed my direction

Interesting... I got upgraded to the 03/2023 update back in february, and have been coding tons of stuff. I did have some problems early on, but after maaaaany emails to/from bimmergeeks, they released some beta patches and everything started working again.

They suggested I sign up for the beta releases, try it and see if it works for you.

That is 03/2023.53 I believe (I'm on that one).

OP upgraded to 03/2023.67

Hopefully ProTools updates the mapping. However, I recall that when I upgraded to 03/2023.53 I actually didn't lose Anti-Dazzle. Maybe because I still had 5AP removed from the VO?

ASD coding is in HU. OP only mentioned couldn't access BDC anymore.

Unrelated to coding I think, but completed the update today and now it's throwing all the codes I had when I lowered the car and tweaked the ABS wire. I had replaced it and cleared the codes using Bimmerlink. Is there a way to roll back?

I'll try a different code reader later. See if I can get to clear. I have an appt at the dealer Monday if all else fails

I did this last week. Another warning for folks: after the upgrade I used backup assist to leave the garage like I always do and it took off in completely the wrong direction! Good job I was watching and didn’t take out the other car!

Have you posted this to the ProTools FB group? They are very active there and highly responsive so they may already be working on an update to account for it.

This morning's update.
I have an autophx 7910 code reader that had a software update available, so I installed that and was able to utilize that to clear the codes. It appears to have been successful.

I went for the beta version of ProTools and with that version (2.52.1, I think), I can again access the BDC module.
