N26 oil catch can options
I have a stock F30 N26 engine, so not looking for anything fancy. Not keen on adding things that may impact the operation, but looks like an oil catch can in the PCV circuit may actually be a good idea.
Looks like the N20/N26 engine would need 19mm OD hoses (was looking at Mishimoto). Unfortunately, do not know the ID of the hose which should matter most as far as operations. How critical is the hose size? Would an 16mm OD house work? What about 14mm? Also, I saw catch cans with a filter on the top. Is that necessary or even useful? I do want to have a bronze particulate filter besides the baffles. What you think?

Thanks, will note that the supplied hoses maybe inferior in quality. What do you think the ID size is for your hoses? And for the OD?
What about the OEM hoses/connectors with 100K miles like mine? Some noted that the OEM lines/connections can break easily (when they added in the oil catch can setup) as they become brittle with time.

IMO oil catch cans are absolutely unnecessary on N20(N26) engines. (Probably on any modern BMW engine). You are really trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist…

I don't recall the size, it's been four years since I installed it. It's whatever fit the largest supplied fittings. They're fuel hoses. I cut the original pipe that connects to the PCV to splice them into the loop.
