Reverse Light Tint

https://autoid.co/products/bmw-2-ser...49999438&_ss=c

Has anyone installed these tints on their reverse lights? How was the process? Never done any sort of tint/wrap so curious if easy enough for a beginner to do.

It’s just like applying any film. Doesn’t look difficult since it’s not a complex shape. Should take 5 minutes a side…..to break the law! lol.

Easy to do but ideally you need tinted PPF rather than a smoked film. The former is expensive, the latter will not have a consistent finish.
Also remember your brake lights will also be tinted. While legal to a point, do you really want to dim, and despite what people say you will dim them, a safety light?

I did them. Took about 15 minutes. Extremely simple and comes with everything you need. Note: I am not the car guy who does anything on his own hahaha and it was still easy.

Exactly what he said. Don't worry about the naysayers who don't have them installed on their cars, yet choose to weigh in...never had a single issue with the 5-0 and they look stock (lots of cars come out with smoky tail lights). Reverse lights, tail lights, and brake lights all light up nice a bright at night. Get lots of love at cars and coffee and I absolutely love the look. There are more than a handful of members on here that have gotten this done (some from Autoid and some themselves or at a tint shop). Cheers.

There are plenty threads on how easy they are to install.
I’m with others though, why anyone would want to darken brake, reverse and indicator lights is beyond me.

Guess it’s all about the likes.

Well this was an unhelpful response lol. I’ve only seen one thread on these reverse overlays, and not much else.

Thanks for your opinion though, noted

May be you need to look a bit harder
Try the “how I have ruined my car today” thread. sorry I meant the “what have you done to your G42 today” thread.

The autoid ones come with straightforward instructions. You’ll need some baby shampoo to mix the slip solution.

Note: window tint film is different and won’t give you a very clear finish on lights. You need ppf (which I think the autoid ones probably are). That said, anyone who darkens safety light probably isn’t that picky about the finish

Anyway I hope you appreciate the, er appreciate.

Hahaha, I’ve installed them in the meantime from my original post, and think they look quite good! Don’t think a tiny tint overlay on the taillights could ruin a car, but it’s my car anyways so don’t mind.

You can continue to worry about legality and such if you like

Believe me I don’t care about you having legality issues.
I only care about someone else running into the back of you and their losses due to your entitlement.

You can disregard the silly "entitlement" comments. Every single user on here with these overlays or similar has had zero issues with visibility at night and zero accidents reported due to this non-issue. Enjoy your look like the rest of us.

Stick with your ignorance and disregard what was said... There's a reason why you have more posts than rep. It's because you like to b*tch and moan and no one cares.

Can’t help it if you have no sense of humour nor grasp that fact that dimming rear lights isn’t the smartest mod you can do.
There is a reason mods like that are regulated in terms of legality and tint %age. But hey, you do you.
