Front fender liner mod

Does anyone have experience modifying the front fender liner to allow a slightly larger tire up front? I've seen the aftermarket set, but not a fan of dropping a grand for a piece of plastic that I can mangle myself.

If anyone has a guide or pointers I'd really appreciate it. For reference I recently got a set of 285/35-19 RE71-RS and the front barely touch at full lock. Looks like I have to trim fins 2-6 (counting from the bottom) about an inch inboard.

Thanks!

I used an exacto knife and gently shaved my fins down 50% from where they where flush. Just slowly carve a slither out at a time until you get them down enough.

That or just cut them out. But I choose to have something, even if its super thin. So I shaved mine down.

Take a heat gun to the liner. After it softens take a wedge (I made one from a 2x4) and put it between n the tire and the liner. Pull the wedge after an hour to test. I did this right after taking delivery and I have no rubbing.

I also used the heat gun method & it worked perect.

It goes without saying, but you need to leave the wheel on to do this. Yes, the working space is a little tight, but take your time. My heat gun also has different nozzles to direct the air, which helps.

Simply Heat the plastic up so it’s mailable. Then, between the wheel & the liner, I wedged in a wooden chalk, and some old magazines. I let it sit that way for about 15 minutes.

Zero rub on full lock, and I’m lowered with spacers, on Pirelli’s
