From the 1st Day iND debuted the Alpha N Hood on their BRG M4 I wanted it & I finally pulled the trigger.

From order to install
April 7th ordered (Huge box - lots of pkging to ensure its protected)
April 12th arrived in Canada
April 13th Cleared Customs
April 14th I received it and installed it

The hood was extremely well packaged - Zero issues

Install
Removed my OEM Hood | 4 screws and off it went | 5-10min
**It was actually quite light - Much lighter then my M2C hood for comparison

Installed my new Alpha N Hood | 4 screws and on it went | 5-10min
Alpha N Hood bolted to the exact same marks as my OEM hood
Fitment was perfect - Immediately.
Switched over the OEM latches | 2 bump stops & 2 dust covers
The Hood is noticeable lighter than OEM - Guessing -10-15lbs lighter.

Alpha N hood is very Motorsport. The weave is flawless.
Alpha N hood has a top coat on it but its rather Matte - Very smooth.
It does have small surface scratches on it - Nothing to worry about as everyone will surely paint/wrap/clear the hood to its final stages.

What will I do......
Wet sanded | 3x coats of clear applied | Polished

I will be leaving it exposed carbon
No Pictures of the clear coated hood on the car yet - Stay tuned!!

I will than PPF the hood.

The detail of this hood is amazing
Having a dark color vehicle (Twilight purple) with the G83 black top - I think it matches nicely.
Dropping the top & exposing the white interior / Carbon buckets with carbon steering wheel - complements this hood even more.

I’ve been wanting one of these since they released it as well but just haven’t pulled the trigger on it. It looks good against Twilight for sure but I don’t think I could go with leaving it unpainted. I think it’s the fact of where the front hood line is, just something about it with the purple in front of the carbon like that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nice to see someone with Twilight do it though!

I'm still on the fence but my gut feeling is strongly telling me to leave it exposed. I personally love the look.
I've always appreciated JDM builds... This ties into that.. I've always loved the RS line from Porsche - This gives me that feeling.

I love the motorsport feel and look.

I think it's an adjustment on this platform because the M4 Hood & Bumper is rather wide & straight - Not as rounded as a GT3 or S2000

Going with my gut on this one
The carbon weave makes me smile a lot!!

You should mock up paint matching and leaving outlets exposed carbon...

Looks incredible and I like the contrast as it stands. I’m with @chicagofan00 in that I’ve wanted a new hood since I saw the many available options. I know Vorsteiner has a CF hood that looks slightly different with vents and Flossman has a non-CF that’s similar to iNDs. Either way, they all look fairly sick and I’m happy for you…congrats!

I want to show Alpha N's amazing attention to detail on this piece
I feel like painting it would work best if the weave wasn't as flawless as it is - but its sooo mint.

Looks great, very aggressive but not overly “in your face” which I like and appreciate. I get your point on keeping it JDM with the carbon fiber exposed but also feel painted would look amazing. One question I have is are the vents open to the engine bay? Any pictures of that? Is there a mesh there?

Vents are open to the engine bay
It disperses quite a bit of heat
The Eventuri intakes can be heard even more now which is nice too.

Black mesh will be installed in the final stages to complete the look and ensure no large leaves etc make there way into the engine bay

I’d paint it and maybe leave some exposed in the vent area personally, but my tastes are more subtle.

I bet the Eventuri intake noise with the roof down is crazy now!

The added 2 vents on this Alpha N Hood expose the Eventuri intake sound much more!!!

Hood is at the body shop for some final touches to be revealed in the next few days!!!
