A few days ago I contacted IND to see if they would email me the instructions for installing the yellow DRL and they followed through almost immediately. I wanted to see what all was involved prior to spending the money, and since it didn't look too bad I gave it a shot.

The tiny circuit boards arrived today wrapped in about 6 feet of bubble wrap, so I headed to the garage. Everything was straightforward and the process followed the instructions perfectly. The instructions said I could pull back the fender liner to access the heatsink, but that would have made the process 10x more difficult, so I opted for removing the whole liner, which was super simple. The instructions also stated it may help to loosen the headlight assembly to allow a little more room to remove the heatsink, but I was able to carefully wiggle-out the heatsink w/o touching the headlight screws.

I did the left side first and it took maybe an hour with reading instructions, taking pictures, and going pretty slow just to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. Doing the right side was maybe 20 minutes.

It's hard to get a really accurate representation of light in basic pictures, but it looks really good in person. I was a little hesitant about them being yellow rather than amber, but they stand out from lots of other cars/SUV's that have amber DRL's which are the same color as their blinkers. Here the DRL's are yellow and change to amber while blinking.

I'll edit this post with install pics from my phone, with the last picture of the car head-on facing the sun as I wanted to see how they stood out in bright light, which they did great.

I think it will look great with TNM!

You'll notice in the picture where the heatsink is hanging there is what looks like some sort of protective wrapping (sorta like tape) on the back of the LED. I did not notice this until I posted the pics, but I do remember the right side not having this. Let me know what you see on yours, as I'm just curious. Everything seems to be working great so far.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, pay attention to how tight the three torx screws are holding the heatsinks to the DRL's. They're not very tight, and I could unscrew them with just the torx socket and extension by hand. Keep this in mind when you re-tighten as I'm guessing the plastic treads on the DRL's could be stripped fairly easy. If this happens you may welcome condensation.

Thanks. I'll look for that tape. And go easy on the torques. My hand is calibrated to 10nm(aka 6mm KTM) which apparently was too much for one of the plastic threads of the rear license plate mount.

I've been on the fence with these for a while. Have the G80/G82 chips been confirmed to fit the G42?

Interesting mod but just reminds me of the painted lights you needed for trips to mainland Europe in the 1970s/80s.

Don’t know anything about that, but every time I see their reflection from the truck in front of me, or from a building window, I fall in love with them all over again.

Why would wiring be needed? Maybe that's a shared image set used across many of the vendors products?

True, forgot it was RGB and not fixed yellow DRL. IMO you're better off paying the extra $100 for a fixed yellow kit, unless you want RGB color options.

It would be a much bigger PITA w/o the wheels on! Doubt you could get your arm between the tire and fender unless it's off the ground, and if it's off the ground then the difficult part is already done.
