Pretty cool stuff. However, Correct me if I’m wrong, but I find it funny that they promote track use but then void vehicle warranty if the car is used on a track.

🙄 what they don’t tell you is you will need an alignment to increase your negative camber so you don’t shred the outside contact patch of your tires after one track day 🤣

What are you talking about?

You can track an M3 to your heart's content and it stays under warranty, as long as you don't "race" it and of course you don't tune it.

You can lease a M3, install race seats, suspension and BBK and it stays under warranty. You can do literally hundreds of HPDEs and it still stays under warranty.

Not disagreeing with you and maybe I am wrong but I have “heard” stories of dealers try to void warranties when seeing signs of track use.

you get pretty decent negative camber from factory. We measured one at -1.7 front L/R fresh off the truck. But yes, will need to get camber plates for hard tracking

That happened to me with Audi some years ago but every BMW dealer I’ve worked with seemed to be fine with me tracking the car.

Obv. if you abuse it by neglecting to let the car cool down after a few laps, warping the brakes, etc. then those won’t be covered but then that isn’t manufacturing sefects after all.

Here's what I do, I volunteer my wife to work registration and I drive the pace truck. That way I never pay for track time so I can spend my $$$ on S2000 tires and brake pads. Oh, and gas.

Interesting. I really still would wait for the new M2 and see what that thing is about. I cannot get over the grills, and I cannot get over the poor brakes on the M car. Hope the M2 will fix this. Also funny posted by a 911 Turbo s owner.

Hi, welcome to 2023. I watched a G80 with stock brakes plus track pads, stock suspension and no lightening or aero to 1:58.7 in VIR.

For those unfamiliar, it's a few seconds off IMSA qualifying time for the M4 GT4.

This was a good conversation topic back in the day and yet is completely irrelevant to the G8x generation cars the video shows.
