Hi everyone!

BMW today announced dates for this year's Ultimate Driving Experience and M Tracks Days. Looks like they removed a lot of cities this year for UDE and moved all M Track Days to the second half of the year.

Any ideas why they moved M Track Days that far? What are they waiting for?

So what is this? Just autocross is what I see listed when looking under NJ. I don't see the actual track days they normally have.

This year MTD are in Austin (COTA), Indianapolis (IMS), Monticello (Monticello Motor Club) and Sonoma (Sonoma Raceway). You can see them by the link at the end of the page.

Appreciate the info. Surprised to see St. Louis on there. Hopefully I'll catch the email in time to register before it fills up. Can anyone who's done these share their experience?

BMW Canada needs to have these sort of events and not only host when a new model comes out. Wishful thinking since all 3 German OEMs are in cost cutting mode.

They are a lot of fun!! Guess they decided Chicago isn’t a big enough market this time around. Where are you in Illinois? I’m guessing closer to St. Louis. There’s a fair chance I’ll make the trek to Milwaukee. It actually wouldn’t take me much longer to drive from the city there than it does to drive out to the suburbs.

I'm on the Illinois side not too far from the track. Milwaukee would be a fun little trip, but easier to go local having kids.

I last went to this event during the launch of the i8 and M2! Just signed up for NorthNJ Saturday @8:30am. Anyone have an idea what cars they are using for auto-cross these days? Last time I think it was 3 series with M pack and also they had a traction course with the x5 xDrive

In my region the event was really good in 2019 and even 2020. But come 2021 they only had the 440xi to autocross (not fun) and a only SUVs were available for street drives drive. I skipped last year as the prospect of autocrossing an i4 was bleh.

Chicago wasn’t on the initial list for UDE last year, but they added one in Hoffman Estates later. Maybe they do the same this year.

I skipped the autocross last year because of the i4, but I did drive it on the street drive. I think it was the 40 for the street drive. As far as electrics go I felt it did maintain the BMW driving feel pretty well. I still have no interest in owning one. Driving the street drive i4 made me wish a little that I’d done the autocross. But, I’ve done a lot of them. Last year they were still doing the radios in the car, which some folks liked quite a bit, but I prefer having the actual instructor there giving actual instruction.

The street drive was actually pretty good. They had a wide variety of cars, including an M340i. For me it was worth going to for the street drive.
