BMW ///M Inspired Garage Remodel

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Just a few weeks ago this garage had plain white walls, bare concrete with countless cracks and unevenness, and a single light bulb illuminating it.

My wife bought me the hex lights for my birthday and once they were installed I felt like I needed to dive in the rest of the way and finish the garage. We painted the white walls with the dark grey and then picked up M colors to paint the stripes on the wall.

Then came the decision on the flooring. I was deciding between Swisstrax or some sort of epoxy. With the condition the concrete was in I thought it would make more sense to actually fix it, rather than just throw something on top which would be a similar price.

I knew I wanted to use a professional company to do the epoxy properly because I have yet to see any of my friends' DIY epoxy garages that did not start to peel/delaminate after a while. I did consider the traditional flakes, but because I honestly do not do any major car work myself, a metallic epoxy floor like what I went with would hold up just fine.

I chose a silver metallic epoxy and told the company do put minimal red/blue veins in the floor. After day 2 of the started job, color was finally added. They told me if I wanted to, they could add even more color before the top layer was added in on day 3 to seal it in. The main guy suggested that if I do want more color, to maybe have a spilling effect of the M stripes from the wall onto the floor. I said go ahead and add more color and do whatever you want - be creative. This is the result and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. I have a couple banners/flags coming in to hide the AC unit and shelving on the other side that is not pictured here. I hope you enjoy the photos! And before you say it, I can always have a Porsche AND an M at the same time one day

If you have Instagram you can follow me @50shadeofhockenheim if you'd like to see more as I am much more active on there.

Looks amazing!

What happens if you at some point get something other than a BMW? Do you redo the garage?

Thanks! This is my 5th BMW and I’ve had other cars in between (Z06, 5.0) and always went back to BMW. So I think I’ll always have one and then maybe something in addition one day

Damn, we’d to step up my garage game. Very well and tastefully done. Love the lights too.

Saw and commented on Insta already… it this is simply fantastic!

So jealous of this garage, no way my wife would let me do the garage in full M theme.

Not usually a fan of the themed garages but that does look pretty great with the transition from the wall to floor.

They’re from getlitledlighting.com, the 5 hexagrid x 2 for each side of the garage. Since posting on social media they gave me a code “50shades” to give out that gives you 10% off your order

Great look!

Is the epoxy at all slippery when wet?

Excellent job.

What is the size of your garage? I ask because I am almost done with my new garage build and have been looking at the hexgrid lights. But was curious as to how many I would need.

Dude, that’s sick!!

I’m so envious, as much as I want to make my garage super nice like this, there’s just way too much stuff we are storing in there! Where do you keep everything? Attic and basement? Monthly storage?!

The other side of the garage has the shelving and bikes hanging from the ceiling. Then I have a pressure washer against the wall closer to the garage door not pictured
