California car insurance ?
Hey everyone, I’ve been shopping around for car insurance the last few days and I wanted to ask everyone here on the CA forum what you guys pay for your BMW? Currently I’m in SoCal, have farmers for my current car and my moms for $213 a month for both.I checked AAA and nationwide, those were in the $300s, progressive gave me $231. Geico was lowest around $221. I’m 28 years old, clean driving record, and this is fora new 2023 430i gran coupe.
I’m getting quoted by farmers at $249.50 for: 100k property damage 25/50 bodily injury (and uninsured) 1000 deductible for comprehensive and collision Towing & road service included 1000 Additional equipment Vehicle manufacturer parts replacement (comp & collision) Glass deductible buyback New car Replacement Loss of use(50 per day, 1000 max) This is my first time handling car insurance on my own so any guidance or just what y’all are paying would be great. Thanks everyone. Last edited by Mkj0811; 02-22-2023 at 01:16 PM.. |

We switched from Allstate to Geico about 5yrs ago and the experience has been great. Not the cheapest company but response when you need it is solid and agents are always available when you have questions.

I have 2023 330e and my wife drives 2022 Mazda CX-5. For 2 cars, we pay slightly less than $200 per month for total yearly premium of about $2,300.
It used to even lower but payment went up slightly after we added my teenage daughter on our insurance, but she doesn't have an assigned car and only a part-time driver. My insurance company is CSAA (same as AAA) and I have been with them for nearly 30 years. I think CSAA is one of the best car insurance companies and I have no complaint so far. Coverage wise 100k/300k/100k is standard on the lower side. In California I would definitely recommend at least the 100/300/100. One wreck could easily cause damage approaching these limits. You might want to see exactly how much the higher deductibles are actually saving. Personally, I prefer having a little bit lower comprehensive coverage deductible. See how much difference a $500 comprehensive deductible makes.

Not California but Florida and a similar age and driving record. I just signed up through Costco. It was almost $400/6 months cheaper than what Progressive quoted.
