Gear shift surround trim

Tried installing the "M3 Competition" M badge in the gear surround area and failed miserably, damaging the silver trim. I tried with all the trim removal tools I had and didn't manage to pop the thing out. Only popped out the top and nothing further.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement for just the silver bit?

I tried to find this particular piece with no success. Willing to buy the whole thing with the buttons if I can pry the silver piece out. Any ideas? Thank you.

This happened to me exactly the same way. I ended up putting in the new insert but badly damaged the silver frame. Does anyone know how it can be removed? Just the silver frame.
