No US allocation this month for the X1?
So my CA reached out to me since I have an X1 on order since mid November and was 3rd in line when I checked last month. However I was informed today that there are no X1 allocations this month anywhere in the US.
Anybody else run into this or able to confirm? My wife was planning a cross-country trip in April so this may put a big dent in those plans. |

I think this depends on the BMW dealer. Some dealers have more clout with BMW and have more allocation.(based on their past sales numbers overall)
For example, two of the dealers in my area are the opposite of each other. One is huge and always has well over 100 cars/SUVs on the lot, with lots more on order. The other BMW is tiny by comparison. They rarely have more than 10 cars on the lot and the dealership itself is smaller than the Exxon gas station next door. Obviously I went with the bigger dealer because they had more available allocations. Unfortunately, it also means I'm still 28 out of 42 customer waiting for the X1 to come in. |

I understand the allocation per dealer and order timing as I just when through the process with a different make that has a similar problem. While I did order one out of state at MSRP I was still 113th in line. Fortunately, I was able to find one locally at the end of last month - also at MSRP.
My concern was that the CA clearly stated that there were no US allocations this month - which seemed really strange. It was bad enough when they (the dealership) didn't get any December X1 allocations. I have a call into him to get additional clarification but my wife's trip is now in jeopardy. |

Most luxury car dealers offer more lower range cars the more top end you sell. Not all but many. So sell a few extra i7 or M8 etc. and you get a bigger allocation of lower end cars. Lexus certainly used to do this so it ends up dealer dependant on the allocation and also a reason they want top end cars moving.

Spoke with my CA just now and the email he was reading from says ZERO X1 allocations nationally for January. No clue if this will extend into February.
I did speak with another dealer as well and they also said nothing available at the moment. Based on the fact I'd like Active Driving Assist Pro and there are none in the country then it would have to wait on the build. |
