Just completed first long trip (MPG)
Just finished our first family trip in the x1. In the pictures my avg mph includes traffic jams. There were times (actually a lot of it) I was over 90mph. I am not at all disappointed with my MPG on this 300 mile journey.

28mpg seems decent enough, considering that you were doing 90mph most of the time.
what was the highest speed you have take the new X1? The highest speed I saw on YouTube videos was 233km/h with the xDrive23i engine.(which is about 144mph?) |

Took my wife's vehicle to the cottage in early december to break it in for her (1,200 kms round trip). Pretty much same mileage as her 2018 x1...around 8L/100km or a little over 850kms to the tank. From empty, believe it's around ~50 Litres...@ $2/litre for 91
My x3mc on the other hand...brutal mileage avg around 13L/100km

Ok but NJ Tpk gas is probably cheaper than in G'Town area, and is full serve. So maybe you want to fill up?

Anyone else noticed any discrepancy between the mileage reported in the "My BMW" app and iDrive?
iDrive reported 48mpg for a trip I made on New Year's Day. For the same trip "My BMW" reported 2.4 gal/100 miles. A couple of issues here: 1. "gallons per 100 miles" seems to be some kind of made-up metric that only the My BMW app uses. Probably some half-assed conversion from litres per 100km, which is a standard in Europe. 2. 2.4 gal/100 miles is ~41.7mpg, some way off 48mpg. If "My BMW" is using US gallons then this might go some way to explaining it as 41.7mpg in US gallons is ~50mpg in Imperial gallons.

Yeah mine is always wrong. The app reports my mpg being worse than idrive does. The gallons per 100 miles is a stupid metric, I'd much rather it be the same mpg.

I switched the units in the app to km and litres and for the same trip it reported 5.7l/100km. By my reckoning this equates to 49.8mpg (Imperial gallons) - which is more in line with what iDrive reported (48mpg). BMW do seem to respond to feedback in the Apple App Store so I will file an appropriate bug report. I will also have a massive whinge about there being no option for tyre pressures to be reported in psi as well.

49.8mpg (Imperial gallons) converted to US gallon would be 41.5mpg
Does 23' X1 really can do 41.5 mpg (us)? Quote:

54 litre tank is an additional cost option on mild hybrid models in UK/Europe.

When you do hit the inevitable bumper to bumper traffic, put it in Efficient Mode.

You are not going to see measurably different MPG while driving 70 mph on the highway--or any highway driving. Efficient Mode is going to help more in-town driving; the stop/start will kick in more, and the system will want you to ease up on the gas. EcoPro mode got me absolutely nothing in highway driving in my 3-Series. It's great for snow driving, though, as it reduces power when accelerating. If you are going to use it in Efficient Mode all the time, you might as well get yourself a true hybrid - you kill any enjoyment out of driving the car, and you don't really get much benefit.
