my BMW dealer has 37 X1s on order, 35 have sport seats, except the 2 that I ordered?

Am I being stupid for not ordering the X1 with sport seats?

my BMW dealer has 37 X1s on order as of a week ago, according to my salesman. when my family placed the order for two identical X1s, we chose NOT to have sport seats. He commented that it was extremely rare... so I asked him how rare. He looked it up.....

they apparently had 37 X1s on order from customers who left at least a $1000 deposit. 35 of them had sport seats(including 11 with M Sport Package, which included sport seats as part of the package). Only two did not have sport seats on the order sheet. Those two happened to be the two that my family ordered.

The dealer's own demo X1 also had sport seats, which I didn't really care for after test driving it on 4 different occasions since last month.

Just wondering if it will be hard to sell the X1 a few years down the road if it doesn't have sport seats?

I've had 2nd gen X1 loaners with non-sport seats, and if the current non-sport seats are anything like the 2nd Gen X1 non-sport seats, I wouldn't want them. But the current ones do look like they have better bolstering that the prior versions.

How many of those orders have Mocha interior?--because that is available only with sport seats.

But if you drove a model with sport seats, and didn't like them, then you shouldn't even be thinking twice. Why do you care what we think when you already know you don't like the sport seats? Who gives a sh!t if you will take a hit on resale years from now, if you have to live with seats you hate in the interim? It's not an investment - it's your car.

^ Excellent point...if you've already made the decision that those seats are not for you, then forget about what the majority might be...resale means nothing via-a-vis seats. There's a buyer for every configutation. After all, you bought 2 w/o sports seats!

You're overthinking things...your car(s) will be here in a couple of months. Be happy with your order!

am feeling stupid for not ordering the M Sport, shadow line and 19" wheels. But I have sport seats.

Agree with the above. I am going to be happy with my order.

the sport seat was fine for my back/butt, but the lower part kind of protrudes into my thigh, making it uncomfortable during the 1-hour test drive. That was why I ordered it without the sport seat. I'm the same build, but one inch shorter, than this 189cm guy in the screenshot below. The protruding area I'm referring to is where the arrow is pointing at.

Then don’t give it another thought. You made the right choice.

I'm perfectly happy with my non-sport seats. Makes it easier to get in and out of the car.

I think my salesman is somewhat annoyed right now...

When I placed the order, active seats with lumbar support wasn't available. The very next morning, BMW put it up on their website. I called him to add that.

A couple of weeks later, Driver's Assistance Professional became available($1700), I called him again to add that.

Hopefully, BMW will not make other options available within the next month and half. Come to think of it, I hope they don't make the leather seat or some other option available the day after my two X1s go into production.

I'm in a similar position. I ordered on 11/11 and have also added the Lumbar Support seats and Driver Assistance Professional. The downside is that a month an half later I'm still stuck in "047 - Spec. released-no quota avail" and the CA has no clue why.

I'm in the same boat. The dealership has almost 40 customers who have ordered the X1. I placed the order for two identical X1s in the first week of November and as of last week, I was told January(at the earliest).
