x1 2023, where is the fuse box?

I need to reboot the onboard computer to reset the battery replacement light. My car was a showroom model and sitting on the showroom draining the battery must have trigger this light. I’ve fully charged the battery and it’s working properly. Where is the fuse box location so I can shut the onboard computer off for 30 min and do a reboot?

Driver's side footwell. Just had a dashcam installed on my wife's '23 x1. That's where the tech wired it to...there might even be one in the boot area, like my x3mc, but I haven't checked. Definitely driver's side though.

Bingo! Of course there is no fuse box documentation that would tell me which fuse is for the ECU. Any thoughts? Or other suggestions to reset the “replace battery” dash error.

Garage List
why isn't this something covered by the dealer under warranty?

Usually the floor models are hooked up to a trickle charger. Take it back to the dealer and let them diagnose and fix it under warranty.

I’ll take it in. They couldn’t get me in until January and I thought it be a quick fix. The dealer said the battery error should go away on its own but it hasn’t. I’ve not been all that impressed by my dealer. They also delivered the vehicle without the front license plate which is not legal in my state. Said if I didn’t drive too fast I should have no issue with the police 🙄

bmw4 Do you happen to know the number of the slot/fuse the tech tapped in?
I want to tape fuse a similar device.
If you could snap a picture that would be great.
Thanks.

Sorry, don't know what fuse # was taped. I would have to disassemble the underneath of the globe box to take a pic...which I don't feel like doing, sorry

I would be happy to help out if I knew exactly how to disassemble the bottom of the globe box...I was in the waiting area when the tech did the work

most BMW owners yell at the dealer for putting on the front license plate during delivery!

My '22 X1 utilized an adapter for my Garmin Mini Dash Cam 2 which hooks directly into the rain sensor located behind the rear view mirror and creates an extra USB port for plugging in...rather than run cables through the car this has been a lifesaver...food for thought.

I'm also using it now in my '23.

Would you like to share a photo of how you connect them?

Thanks.

Interesting bit of kit...doesn't technically support BMW though. How did you know if it was going to fit?

I didn't know if it would fit, but told them I would be the testbed since the pins lined up and everything...luckily it worked out for the best!

Simply unplug "old" purple and plug in "new" purple and then plug "old" purple into the blue adapter...this will power up the USB port, just plug in camera and hide cords.

Back to fuse box because I need to reset mine also. I downloaded the BMW Drivers Guide app and saw that you can look up fuse layout through it. Unfortunately my VIN didn’t provide any info but maybe someone else will get lucky.

I thought the fuse map was included on a white piece of photocopied paper, tucked away on one of the edges of the fuse box....I haven't checked the X1, but all my other BMW's had it in there

Hi, did you find a supplier in Europe? I have looked under the roof consol cover and my x1 is the same so would make the dashcam install really neat.
