so. Fla. custom painters

Hey all. I am looking to get an aluminum strut brace painted San Marino Blue to match my car.

Does anyone have a reputable/recommended shop in the greater Miami area that can paint aluminum?

Also, is there any reason to consider powder coat instead of paint since it will be in engine bay?

*I have reached out to IND who does great work, but prices accordingly (if not beyond, ha.) I would prefer local and cheaper if possible.

I would definitely go powder coat - it's way more temp friendly and durable. Getting an exact SMB match will be harder though. Paint is easy to match and any decent body shop can probably do it for you (it's a weird job so you will pay accordingly).

The ideal situation may be to have someone paint it SMB, then have a clear powder coat applied as your clearcoat, that way you get the durability of powder coat and the color match of paint...

Thanks for the idea. I like it.

For anyone wondering...I spoke to a local powder coating shop. Quoted 175 for sandblast + new coating. Soooo excited!

Also, they said clear powder over paint not doable. I didn't get into why, they just said they would not recommend it.

following along with the hopes you'll post pics once you have it completed. Been thinking about the same here and would like to see what $175 gets you and how happy you are with the outcome.

There's a company up here in Boynton that does powder coating, and they do great work. I'll have to dig up the number, but happy to provide it.

You da man!

I contacted two shops:

1. Bullseye Powder coating in Miami, and
2. Somewhere else, but I can't find the email and haven't heard back. Haha.
