all thee X1 that I saw in person had condensation in the right rear taillight

just an observation:

all thee X1 that I saw in person had condensation in the right rear taillight(passenger side)

they were at 2 different dealerships, so probably not from the same batch?

of course, it was cold out when I was looking at them.(sunny morning, dry but cold, around 35 to 45) two were just condensation like on a cold drink, but the 3rd one had big droplet of water on the inside.

I just thought it was "interesting" and somewhat worrying to me, because I rarely see that happening these days.

I also saw condensation but in the front lights. I asked the seller and he said it's kinda normal and shouldn't be a problem. 🤷

Oh.. I did see that on at least one of them. Because they looked to be identical shape on left and front headlights, I thought they were just part of the design of the new headlight! (silly me)

by the way, when there's a "problem" anywhere on the car, most dealer almost always seem to say "oh, that's normal.. .don't doubt the German engineers!"(what the Mercedes dealer said to me before about a power-operated rear window shade that wouldn't go down all the way)

Oh wow, that's some disappointing build quality...

This was a common problem for the taillights on early Tesla Model 3s...

I can confirm this in a couple of X1 delivered early this month in EU. This is very disappointing indeed. No feedback, explanation or solution provided so far by BMW. If anybody knows anything, it would be great to share your experience.

I have not seen condensation like that since 1998.(when I bought a Lincoln Navigator and one of the headlight housings had severe condensation even in summer... the dealer replaced it, but the new one had the same issue... then I just ignored it, since it was a leased vehicle)

My wife's new x1 had this for a few days. It's gone now. That said virtually every single bmw I've owned has had this issue on & off through the course of the year. Bothers some, but not me. Dries up after a half hour or thereabouts of driving (drl are on obviously, so likely heats up & dries up)
