WE ARE M – Mbedded, Episode 9. THE LINE-UP / onboard footage of the LMDh

Great to have some onboard footage and hearing how the LMDh V8 sounds!

It’s time for intense testing of the new BMW M Hybrid V8 prototype and some driver announcements. The new Mbedded episode offers the first glimpse of the impressive power of the car on track and at emotional moments for the BMW M works drivers – from joy to thrill to tears…
Munich. The BMW M Motorsport video documentary ‘MBEDDED’ offers exclusive insights into racing programmes, gets up close and personal with those in charge, and gives viewers a totally new perspective of how major decisions are made. The ninth episode starts with onboard footage of the BMW M Hybrid V8 during test drives, which give a good impression of the huge potential of the LMDh prototype for the first time. Later in the episode, the focus turns to the drivers who will be competing in the 2023 IMSA season.

The episode follows the testing of the BMW M Hybrid V8, initially in Europe and then in the USA. While the car was being driven at relatively low power during the rollout, the prototype is now showing its impressive potential on the racetrack. Aspects that the drivers really enjoy in dry conditions are real challenges during testing in rain at Watkins Glen (USA).

Away from the racetrack, ‘MBEDDED’ #9 gets up close and personal with the four IMSA regular drivers Connor De Phillippi (USA), Philipp Eng (AUT), Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Nick Yelloly (GBR). The camera even captures some very emotional, personal moments, and reveals a side to the BMW M works drivers that they don’t show during standard race weekends. In addition to the IMSA drivers, René Rast (GER) also shares his impressions after his first outing in a BMW M Motorsport racecar.

If we have to have giant grilles, why not adopt that approach to the kidneys on some of the road cars. Probably won’t work on the SUVs, but would on the sport variants. More reminiscent of the 507 / Z8.

Love the look of the IMSA car!
