what's BMW's definition of "recent college graduate"? does recent PhD degree qualify?
what's BMW's definition of "recent college graduate"? $1000 off towards the order of a 2023 X1...
does recent PhD degree qualify?(daughter received it within the past year) The salesman originally told me YES... just bring the diploma or some other documentation, or better yet, bring her along and put her name on the title as well. However, he called me today and said that the sales manager said that it might or might not work, since they were also offering a Costco discount(around $1000 off MSRP at time of order). On top of that, he wasn't sure if "college graduate" included someone who just graduated from a college graduate school with a PhD degree.... If anyone knows anything about how this works, please let me know. Thanks! |

This is what they list on their web site as the requirement for the college grad discount. If your daughter graduated with PhD less than 2 years ago then she qualifies. But she must be on the title as owner or part owner. It also can't be combined with Costco program.
We've used both before, but on separate vehicles as they couldn't be combined. |

oh... great.... so the $1000 off is not available for cash purchases.... it's kind of amusing that I can get the correct response from a BMW forum within minutes.... yet the sales manager at the local BMW dealer cannot give me a straight answer after 2 days. |

probably because I once had the privilege of buying a Mercedes from this gentleman who was probably the most knowledgeable Mercedes salesman outside of Germany. http://www.curtrich.com/whois.html this part always impressed me and it was the absolute truth... His success at selling cars and Mercedes and Volvos in particular he attributes to a few principles: 1. Don't lie. 2. Don't steal. 3. Treat others as you would like to be treated. 4. Know more about the cars than the customers. 5. While most people think the job involves fast talking, the secret is fast listening. 6. Hard Work = Good Luck. I wonder if there's a equivalent of him among BMW salespeople? Last edited by bluecrabby; 11-08-2022 at 11:24 PM.. |

My dealer told me (in October) that the college grad discount does not apply for 2023 X1.
Has this changed as of November? The website does not specify exclusions, so not sure. Last edited by saws; 11-14-2022 at 07:40 AM.. |
